The first was installing a brand-new three-car driveway with additional sidewalks and replacing the damaged concrete supporting the pillars of our garage apartment. The second project required them to travel nearly 20 miles to my parents' home to replace an aging boardwalk with a slanted cement walkway leading to the entrance, and to bulldoze a 50-year-old cement-and-brick pillar to make room for a small side patio. Their crew worked seamlessly across both properties, and impressively, both projects were completed within a week and done beautifully. He was eager to get the job and offered a competitive price and one-year workmanship warranty. I had seen the work he had performed on other neighbors' driveways, including his parents and was impressed with the finished product. He performed the work at the beginning of this year. The weather was forecasted to be very cold, but he assured me that it was a good time to pour concrete. After pouring the first truck load of concrete, his workers used what was remaining of the concrete to start another large driveway pad section while a new supply was to arrive. Unfortunately, the next supply of concrete was delayed a number of hours (assumingly due to weather / road conditions). When the new supply finally arrived, the added it to the partially poured section (which had already started to set up) and they finished the rest of the job. Unfortunately, do the time lapse, it formed a "cold joint" and cracked completely through the slab from end to end (right along where to older cement meet up with the new cement) within several days of completion (days, not weeks, months or years!). I reported it to him immediately and he assured me that he would replace the section (remember, he offered a one-year warranty). Unfortunately, after many promising to address the warranty over the last almost year, he has stop responding to my inquires and we are now approaching a year since it was poured. In addition to this workmanship issue, the job included some other tile work that was never completed and never came back to cleanup all of the concrete splatter that covered my front landscaping stonework/windows, etc. and his team destroyed my front sprinkler system (both of which I had to clean/replace/repair at my own expense...repairs to any damage they caused was part of the deal). I hope that he will realize this is not the way to handle issues with customers. I understand that issues / problems happen (that's why business warranty their work) and it's tough to lose some of your profit to make it right - as promised - but taking the easy way out always bites you in the a$$ in the end. For example, I had several of my neighbors wanting me to give them his contact information to quote similar replace jobs, but they decided to go with different contactors given the way this has turned out. Remember what they say about Karma - it is always going to show up one day and its usually a bi@#$! Sad, seemed like a nice young man trying to build a business like his parents and brothers have done.

He and his crew came out and did the project in 1 day. It was a small project so it was done in 1 day, we paid at the end of the day after the project was done. They hauled and disposed of the old concrete matter. The crew was well mannered. They cleaned up the area well when they finished the project. We were happy with the work and we do recommend him.

They came out and in one day did all the concrete work that we needed by concreting, where two stalls were in our barn, concreted, the lean too attached to our barn for us to store our tractor and also put in a concrete pad for a propane tank. Sergio was very communicative. He understood what we wanted.His crew was respectful of our property and cleaned up after themselves. After they completed the job, Sergio hauled away the old concrete that they had to tear out. I will definitely refer him to anybody that I know.And we will use him again in the future.

From top to bottom, these guys are amazing…read more I'd received a pretty obnoxious quote for a covered patio and kitchen so did a little bit of price shopping. Of the 6 quotes I got, Jacob at Your Texas Patio blew them all away (he beat the obnoxious one by nearly $50,000 for basically the exact same project). I generally don't go for the cheapest option, but after the initial conversations he had me convinced that he knew what he was doing. So, I dove right in. As soon as they had the go ahead, work was underway. Angel led the way on the construction end and was out there every day (often including the weekends) doing everything from tearing out the side of the house to connect the structure, putting down posts, framing the roof, painting, etc. A real construction stud. In no time the project was complete and I'm extremely happy with the finished project (which beat our target date by about 2 weeks). Sure, there were some snags along the way. I had some plumbing issues that needed to be addressed (1960s house with original sewage lines), a sprinkler than was inadvertently damaged and the need to run a gas line from the other side of the house. Jacob fixed anything that needed to be fixed immediately, and if there was something outside the scope of the project he had someone out there for me to consult with on the same day (I couldn't even get my longtime plumber or audio guys out within two weeks). If I had a tweak to design or a minor addition, it was done. If I had questions on the project at 11pm after a few whiskeys or on a weekend at 7am on my way to a soccer game, it was answered. Sure, he looks like a kid, but he knows what he's doing. I'll be using them on my next projects and you probably should, too.

We got 3 estimates in that each of the three companies sent their staff to the house in reviewing and preparing data for estimates. The estimates from the 3 companies came back with wide range of recommendations and costs. Tony from Star Techn came to do the estimate. He was very professional and informative and answered all of my questions. We picked Star Techn. Foundation Repair because of their estimate and recommendation made sense and not upselling with so many different options which added more costs. Flor was great in her responsive and constant communications with me from the beginning and throughout the project. Flor and Henry were able to work with my schedule to start the project. In addition to keeping the work around the house free of trash and organized, the crew really worked hard and well together in getting the project done in such short amount of time which exceeded my expectations. We have 2 large oak trees close to the front of the house. During the digging of the holes , the crew cut lots of the roots with some as large as one foot in diameter. Apparently, these tree roots have been moving towards the house causing the elevation and foundation issues at the front part of house. Because of discovering this issue, Flora informed me and recommended the metal tree root barrier service that they can do. After reviewing the process and considering protecting the investment of the house foundation from further future damage, we proceeded with the metal root barrier service. Glad we did this since we discovered more large roots encroaching the house that the crew had to cut off. He hooked me in with line that a guy had overbought concrete and he had a $1500 credit at the plant and would pass that on to me on the original estimate for my driveway. Carl said he would pull permits with the city of SL and when I called there wasnt a permit on file for my address. He was always referencing Milton and that he would be driving the truck in. Carl's messages would say, gps on truck can't find your house, this happens, I'll look for him. Then the next message was, the concrete is too hot and had to reject the load and sent the truck back. Everyone has cell phones with maps and this was a lie. The excuses and lies were compounding. We called another company we had a bid for same work, Don Ruggers, Advanced Installation, who apparently voice recorded our phone call to inquire about his availability to finish the job. Don pretended he didn't know Carl Mulle, other than he is a contractor. Carl called me after I was speaking to Don Ruggers. I asked Don if he called Carl and he fessed up and said he did. After calling Carl back, he wanted to speak face to face and was close by my house. What a coincidence. He was clearly upset and upon leaving he said, Don Ruggers shared my call to him and he was upset that I didnt think he would finish the job. Carl kept saying I thought we were friends, this is a business transaction but whatever.In calling other legitimate companies, the concrete pour should have been done by day three and Carl started the work May 13 and today is the 23rd. In addition, Carl said the pour had to be split up, it couldn't be done all at once because the weight of the truck would break the lower concrete towards the street. Another bs line. In summary, this Carl Mulle or CJ Mulle Concreye Services is a sheister in disguise and Don Ruggers of Advanced Installation, didn't want to finish the job for Carl because they're friends or rather thick as thieves.

Beau Roper arrived at our property on time, introduced himself politely, and gave us a quick overview of what to expect -- how long things would take and when we'd get the report back. We walked the property together so I could point out any issues and he could ask questions. He then got to work, explaining that the inspection would take about an hour to an hour and a half since he needed to be thorough and photograph everything on the property. We ran some errands and came back just as he was finishing up. He walked us through everything he'd done and made sure my wife felt comfortable with the findings before leaving the property clean and orderly. Moving forward, Groundworks kept us updated on the status of the report and what to expect next. Everything arrived exactly on time. I can't thank them enough -- this was an exceptional experience compared to other contractors I've dealt with. Groundworks provided a very thorough report, complete with the licensed engineer's information, which made a real difference. Quick note for anyone in Texas: there's no state license or requirement to be a foundation contractor here -- all you need is a shovel. It's a pretty wide-open, unregulated space. That's what made Groundworks' transparency stand out even more. As it turned out, our house didn't need any foundation work, so we don't know firsthand how they'd handle an actual repair.
