What a cute little town on sea cliffs of Atlantic Ocean short drive from Lisboa or Sintra. The name translates to Watermills of the sea, and that should tell you everything. The day we visited, definitely sounded like watermills. Strong winds and deafening sound of waves crushing into sea cliffs made it for pretty unique experiences. There are two parking lots and a path with stairs that takes you to another 100 feet lower platform. It was refreshingly empty, just a few curious tourists would peak over the cliffs and run straight back for the car. The small beach below the village was disappearing from strong waves and currents and the man-made ocean pool (one of a kind) was overflowing with the seawater-definitely not swimming conditions.
