If either of the doctors are unavailable, Erin Schendel, the P.A. is usually available. I actually end up seeing her the majority of the time. I absolutely love her! She is very thorough with her assessments and really takes her time to offer a caring ear to fully understand what is going on. I'm grateful that she is a part of my medical care team. From the receptionist to the billing department to the actual medical professionals, everyone is a pleasure to work with!

Jose Ortiz, the doctor I had is great…read more Some of the staff I worked with is not. Dr. Ortiz gave me the right meds just by listening and then looking at the ER papers. I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. If you are, the manager resolved my issues when they were escalated, she was kind and made sure everything was okay.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Dr. Zarate yet!…read more Anyway, I have cycled through a lot of primary care doctors over my adult life in a handful of different cities and Dr. Rudy Zarate is by far my favorite. He takes time to listen to your symptoms, cares about your health and wellbeing, and (gasp) tends to be very timely. Added pluses are his location (I work downtown and often walk to/from his office), it is easy to get in to see him, and billing/admin stuff has never been an issue. If you are looking for primary care, I highly recommend Zarate Medical Group, in particular Rudy Zarate.

Jenny just spoke to me with trashy Gen Z "clap backs" that were wildly unprofessional. This isn't Tik Tok this is a doctor's office. Jenny and Tara will ruin any hope you have of receiving medical care appropriately and in a timely way. I've had multiple referrals go un-filed for weeks and months despite timely, considerate reminders, forcing multiple specialists to bill me thousands of dollars out of pocket. They regularly violate HIPPAA and communicate loudly about patient details in front of others. Now, they are refusing to let me see the doctor over a mistake they admitted was their own, but instead doubled down and got weirdly and inappropriately sassy. ONLY see Dr. Z if you can work with Rudy and Rudy only. He's the only one with a heart in that office other than the doctors.

I was informed by the manager of the office that my time was limited to 30 minutes, although I was allowed an hour this time, but I would have to make another appointment... more of my time and $$$. Since this is a primary physician, apparently any treatments are minimal, and you can expect mostly referrals to other physicians or services. I was told these appointments were not for my type of situation, whatever that was. Also, apparently any narcotic prescriptions, such as those for anxiety are non-existent, or at least in my case. I will note that at all times everyone was at least reasonably courteous, although the mood changed considerably when i questioned the unwritten rule.
