Then suddenly, One day before the job, he asked 50% of the amount as advance payment. I paid him about 20% in advance without having met/spoke with him and agreed that remaining 80% would be made after the job is complete. All this while he insisted that he has 10 years of experience and is very good with this work. Then come Friday, he didnot show up.. On multiple followups he mentioned that he might not be able to come on Friday. I asked if he can come on Saturday. He said he will come first thing in the morning around 9-10 am. He finally came at about 2 pm and started working on kitchen backsplash. He then said i need to wind up early around 4.30 PM and went back with only few of the tiles installed yet. Here as well, he installed several tiles in the wrong direction. Then he said he will come early Monday morning. However on Monday, he didnot come and when i followed up with him on his eta around 11 am he said his car has broke down and he will come in afternoon. But he never showed up. He then said he will come Tuesday morning, which he finally came around noon. He then stick one line of tiles (worked very slowly) and around 5 PM said i need to go to Home depot as my glue is out. He then went out. And then he texts me from oustide saying I need remaining payment to buy materials. (The material cost here was already covered and way less than the initial 20% deposit). I replied that I will make the payment once you can come and finish it. But he never came back and behaved very rudely over chat demanding money in advance for work which he was not willing to complete. Many of the tiles he put have cracks, And he put the tiles in wayward wrong alignment all while saying that he has 10 years job experience. He ran away from incomplete job and texts me after going out of home and took 80% of the money completing only 25% of the job. This guy "Larry" is an aboslute cheat and doesnot know his work properly. I have never experienced such a horrendous customer service. Beware doing business with this guy LARRY!! The roofers completed the job in a day. Despite tornado watch and rain conditions, chimney was successfully completely in a day. The director of operations Samantha K. And her subordinate Jenna, and their attitudes, were absolutely horrendous to deal with-- arrogant, bad tone, and aggressive. Now I see what the previous clients meant by their unprofessionalism, entitlement, and callous demeanor as a result, I wouldn't recommend this company to a dog flea, and would encourage others to not only get quotes from other companies, but to read all of the numerous negative reviews they have received across multiple platforms. Their site manager Jacob, was nice but lost in the sauce. After letting Samantha know Jacob had never sent the photos or reached out she insinuated I might have had his number blocked which was totally false since I have an open line of communication not only for the roofing team but also for other contractos (unrelated) doing upgrades on my home, she covered for the poor behaviors of both parties, and Jenna's terrible disposition, until she finally ran out of excuses, relented, and gave a real pathetic apology. moment she answered the phone. Her tone was dismissive, impatient, and honestly made it seem like customers were an inconvenience. All in all If this is how they treat PAYING customers I can only imagine how problems are handled after payment is made. Customer service reflects the company as a whole, and this interaction with these two women was enough for me to take my business elsewhere and ensure than any of my friends, family members, colleagues, strangers and literally anyone knows I would not recommend dealing with a company that allows this level of disrespect toward customers.
