We ended up getting a fish in salt and we were asked to come over to the showcase and choose the fish. We waited for around 20-30 minutes so I recommend getting a starter if you're really hungry. One thing I can say is the results were worth the wait. 3 waiters brought a huge plate on top of which there was a dish encased in a salt container. They carefully broke the salt container and removed the fish meat from it onto a plate. It was delicious, to say the least. Really moist, a bit salty and the souces that came with it were great. Pro tip: don't give cats around there a look! They will come down to your table and stare at you pitifully expecting you to give them some bits of your fish.

My fiance and I made reservations for dinner at Lara Balikevi on our last night in Turkey. We were hoping to end our vacation with a satisfying meal, but were extremely disappointed. A slight tilt of the casserole revealed all the oil that was used to deep fry our dish. We barely touched anything because every single item on the dish was coated with grease. I see the machine asking if I wanted to pay in Lira or USD. As a smart traveler, I know to pay the bill in local currency and let my bank do the transaction. Well in lightning speed he presses in USD. This includes a bad exchange rate, commission, and a transaction fee to be added on. I told him that I wanted to pay in Lira but he lied and said that it automatically converts to USD. Tourists are targets.
