Axis Electric-- one year later. Pros: They showed up when they said they would. Cons: They didn't tell me to cover anything, so when I came home after an all day project imagine my surprise when ALLLLLL of my house and furniture was covered in white dust. They came in with a shop vac, and removed as much as they could. And then left. I overlooked it because I had a newborn and didn't have time to process the experience. I was left to clean all of my furniture, floors and cabinets-- while carrying a baby. Flash forward one year later when the lights start flickering. I call and they tell me "No worries because the work is under warranty." When they arrive, they change out a bad switch. I was like, cool... thanks for coming. Then I get a bill for their time $112.00, plus $1.23 for a bad switch. I call to ask why I was charged and they said on the original work quote, it was under warranty but that bad switches were not covered. Fair. No big deal... but here is where my problem is... When suggesting that at the time of quotes and contracts, you could inform the homeowner that for $1.23 a new switch could be put in, the person completely dismissed my suggestion and told me that the customers wouldn't ever want to do that as if it was an absurd request. What happened to "The customer is always right?" That is what I used to be told when I worked in customer service. All it would have taken is, "Yeah, that's a good idea, I am sorry that we can't do anything to help you now but we will keep your idea in mind." Instead, I was made to feel stupid and like I was crazy for making a suggestion. I paid the invoice and made it known that they wouldn't be getting future business from my family. I will not make recommendations for Axis. And I kindly request you consider hiring someone new to answer your phones. Lastly, such a bummer because while they were out fixing the switch I had asked about additional thousands of dollars worth of projects for my house... good luck, Axis. read more

Bought a 130-year-old house in Corvallis with a circuit that mysteriously and randomly turned lights on and off. Since I don't believe in ghosts, I imagined there might be a hidden timer somewhere on the circuit. An Axis electrician came out a day after I called and spent about an hour inspecting and testing the circuit. He found switches that were behind a book case and determined that a section of very old (paper insulated) wiring wasn't conducting enough current to consistently activate the lights. He found and replaced that wire: Problem and mystery were solved. Additionally, he replaced an improperly grounded yard outlet... all in a couple of hours and at a very, very fair price. read more

We had them install Cadet heaters in a duplex and they were very fast, and dig good work!

These guys came out the same day, which was amazing. They did a great job and seemed to work quickly. I was pleased with their work. However...when I got the bill, I was charged from the time they left the office to the time they got back. Nobody told me I would be charged for their travel time. I already had to pay for the electrician and his apprentice, plus an hour of drive time (and the office is in Albany where I live). I was told this was "industry standard", so I payed the bill, which ended up being over $600 for 2 1/2 hours of work! Make sure to ask about all the charges before they come out to do the work. read more

We love this company! They gave the best estimate, and actually came in lower - can you beat that? Yes, you can! We had a problem with a room that had no overhead lights - bought an older house with eccentricities - and when the electrician, Luke, realized this, he took time to put lights in that room, even though he wasn't scheduled to do the lights in the house (we had a few rooms with not enough lighting) for another couple of weeks. It's that extra service that we appreciated as much as anything. It made our first few weeks in the house much more comfortable. We found the staff friendly and helpful and were happy with every part of the service - the office staff was very nice as well. So, we are happy to give Axis and Luke and company the 5 stars they definitely deserve! read more

I wish I remember the guys name he was awesome. For $220 he: 1. Pulled out two ceiling fans that were loose and reattached them with proper mounting. 2. He fixed a light outside that didn't work. The connector needed to be bent. 3. Made a fan control speed always on instead of adjustable. 4. He replaced a couple of other fixtures. The guy was extremely nice and fixed additional problems that I found and adjusted things until they were correct. I would have expected this to normally take a few trips. read more

Great service despite fixing a more in depth problem than we originally thought. The job required a new, narrow, double gang box which the tech didn't have and the wires were set up wrong in two places which I didn't know. Despite this he was calm, talked me through the changes he was making and answered my questions without getting annoyed or distracted. Definitely recommend Axis! read more

We have had Axis out a couple of times. They've always been very conscientious and clean! The first time on of the electricians accidentally tracked mud into the house, bear in mind it was winter, he offered to have the carpets cleaned. We had a mud put out here! They just run a great business! read more

Expensive. They quoted me one price and then billed me another. I would have never used them had I know my bill would be almost double what I was told. Go somewhere else that's more honest and transparent with their prices. read more

They first came out over a month ago to check out some electrical issues. After many repeated calls, I have not been able to get them back out to finish the work. The woman who answers the phone is an absolute dunce, and seems helpless to provide any reasonable customer service. read more

tl;dr: Folks at Axis are generally kind, and mostly responsive, and if you are the kind of person who wants to call, sign paperwork before reading, and take little interest in what they plan to do to your house, this company is for you. If you want to be informed, you might look elsewhere. I called Axis for a quote, and they responded quickly (pro: quick responses), sending their estimator to my home. After collecting multiple bids, I decided that Axis' bid looked good (pro: fair prices) and called to ask about any way that I could do some of the work to lower costs or pay in cash to lower costs. They said that they usually had to redo what homeowners do, so no. I also emailed the estimator to ask questions about the job. After receiving bad information from the power company, I called the estimator again to get his opinion on what they said and see if he had experience working with this company. He was not in the first time I called. I called later and we connected. I also sent him an email asking how a meter upgrade from the power company might affect the job. With their bid, Axis sends information about liens and lien waivers, so I asked to include a conditional lien waiver with partial payment and an unconditional lien waiver with final payment. Finally, I asked about a clause in their contract that is unclear about how to resolve any disputes. This was too many questions, and Axis voided their bid. They really were quite kind, just don't look too closely, or ask questions if you choose to business with them. read more
