This is such a great school…read more First, a little background to explain why I am writing this review. I was thinking about things I like so that I can review them, because I want to get my Yelp count higher. Even though I have not had my kids at AIA for a couple of years, this school is one of the first things I thought of. I had two children in this school. The older one attended from K through 5. When she graduated, I had to take the younger one over to their new school as well, because it is impractical for me to have them in two different locations. We only left for logistical reasons. We love this school. I wish I was wealthy so that I could invest in this school and help them expand. Okay, now on to the meat of the review. This school attracts kids from several different cultures. They have very committed teachers. Their founder, Dixie, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. They use Montessori methods, but they are not afraid to adapt their system to meet the needs of each child. My older child learned to read and write better than some of my fellow graduate students! I credit this school for that. I will name a few of the awesome teachers they have (or have had), but I am sure the others are great as well: Mrs. Turner, Mrs. McDaniel, Mrs. Littlewood, and Mrs. Narayan. If you want a well-designed adaptive Montessori program for your kids - that teaches excellent life skills as well - this is the place to bring them. This school does have a Christian affiliation, which would have normally made me wary because we are UUs, not Christian. However, as is appropriate for an international school, religious participation is voluntary. The school had children from families that are Christian, Jewish, UU, Hindu, and Muslim (and probably others). It seemed that none of them experienced religious conflict. So, if you want to teach religious tolerance to your kids, this is a great place.

We reached out right away, explained everything and asked if they could make an exception. They absolutely could have if they wanted to, but instead chose to charge us close to $2,000 and kept pointing us back to the contract and legal language. I even appealed directly to both the outgoing and incoming heads of the school, hoping there would be some understanding given the circumstances and how quickly we notified them. Unfortunately, there was none. The saving grace for us was my son's teachers, Mr. Rao and Mrs. Joshi. They were wonderful and we genuinely appreciated them. Beyond that, I was never particularly impressed with the administration or the overall experience. For a school that positions itself as a premier institution and has so many positive accolades, our experience was very different. To us, it felt like a pretty average/subpar school packaged and marketed as something much more. If you are considering AIA, just make sure you read every line of what you sign. Don't assume there will be any flexibility or understanding even when circumstances change within a matter of days.

I will continue to keep him there throughout the summer since we will like him to be ahead of his next grade. Our son mastered his progress in all areas and we also observed the impact and improvement in his confidence and classroom work; especially spelling and reading. Josh and his entire staff are very special, very patience, great and superior. Evidence of effectiveness in their work style and mission is proven. We really appreciate and recognize the passion and dedication they put into working with our son. My son is always eager to be a part of their environment and his improved reading, spelling, and comprehension have changed the lives of all involved. We are happy due to their enormous impact on our son's achievement and personal growth. I will highly recommend this center and their mission after trying several tutors and a private school that never brought results.

They do not accept more than three kids per time and all the kids have to put a mask on during their tenant. The MJ, the director of this location, cares each students' different level and the learning progression. And this center has the best English and Math teachers. They do know their jobs and they do know how to teach students efficiently and with warm heart. My kids love to go to eyelevel and they never complained about this center. Plus, they provides monthly progress report per subject, which is extremly helpful for me to understand my kids' learning track.

We interviewed at many schools and chose William and Reed because they do not waste time with meaningless busy work, they are focused. I really hoped he would have improved significantly here especially paying so much per a month. After going here every single day it was opened, for over 4 months he did not progress out of long addition and subtraction, and multiplication (multiplication was why we enrolled him) as a 4th grader. He did occasionally make mistakes and since it was not 100% he could not move forward in his work curriculum. We did end up moving over an hour away and other franchises have different rules and prices, like 6- sessions per a month etc. All and all he loved going there and enjoyed math but if he would have advanced in his course work we would have still drove him from an hour away, since he had fun. But in the end I ended up tutoring him to get him where he needed to be. The required assessment test is $100 then sign up fees, then tuition is required to start. Hope this helps.

We signed my son up for 6 months so that he could get additional help with his 6th grade math. For…read more~2-3 months of picking him up and him telling us they worked on math that my 3rd grader is currently doing (and that he had no issue doing on the pre-test they give, ie multiplication facts of 2's, 7's, etc). I told him to speak up and let them know he didn't need to work on that but to help him with what they were actually working on in school. I spoke to the manager when I dropped him off and she was kind and took the pages out of his "curriculum book" as well as marked off that he did not need to do those things. I thought this was it. NOPE! We took in one day for help with some homework. He had only completed 2 problems during the hour he was there and said the lady gave him a sheet of their work vs helping him with his homework...that he still did not understand. I then asked to speak with the head guy, Justin, who called me the next day. He proceeded to laugh and tell me my son was "pulling one over on" and lying to me b/c they were not doing those multiplication problems with him. He also told me that he should be there for 1.5 hours 2-3 days/week in 6th grade. My son was being released at 1 hour to leave on the days we took him and would be waiting at the front door when we picked him up. He told me for the first time that it is their policy to work on their curriculum and only do homework for 30 minutes and only work on school quiz information for limited amount of time because they worked on their curriculum. "We are not a tutoring service". This information was not made clear when we signed up- otherwise we would never have enrolled. After a good 30 minutes on the phone with him insisting that my son was lying to me, he found where the sheets had been pulled and admitted that. We agreed there may have been some miscommunication. I thought we were all good but with summer decided to freeze the account b/c May has been too crazy for us to get him there and we will be gone June and July. Today I got a call from Melanie about a 1 star review I had given on an email I rec'd from them. When I called her back she said she wanted to discuss this and get more insight into why I was dissatisfied. When I tried to talk to her and tell her my concerns, she began to speak over me and would not pause to hear me out. She proceeded to give me the option to terminate and pay them the difference of the 3 months membership fee (which is more than the 6 months so we would owe them more money) vs continuing for 2 months in the fall. I tried to again tell her my issues and she would not stop talking to hear me out and told me that she only needed to know what I wanted to do- the 2 options above or turn me into collections if we refused either. Lesson learned- do not sign up for something like this with a contract b/c they ultimately do not care if you are satisfied- you are under contract. Since dealing with this I have talked to some other people with similar experiences. Bottom line- save your money and hire a HS or college student to help your child with grade level, schoolwork they need help on. I have never dealt with such poor customer service in my life.

Both my daughters attended Medha Edu SAT prep classes during summer of 2025. The owners are very…read morenice and they take extra effort to make sure that the students are working on their topics. Their teachers for both ELA and Math were very good. Both my kids got top scores in Math (800 and 790). Their course work and test assignments are tailored for each student so you won't get a run of the mill type assignments. I highly recommend them for SAT prep classes.
