I've lived in Axiom for a couple of months, renting through Blueground, and that's enough to warn anyone considering it: look elsewhere. The noise is constant. You hear water running through the walls at all hours, footsteps above, and general disturbances that make it hard to get any rest or peace. The apartment I was given was nowhere near what was advertised. The listing said 700 square feet. After the building ignored my requests for someone to come measure it, I hired a certified appraisal company myself. The actual size is 455 square feet. That's not a small mistake, that's a complete misrepresentation. The building manager, Taylor, made things worse. I called him and he said he would come measure the apartment but never did. He also never returned calls. The only time I got in touch with him was when I called the leasing line and he picked up. This kind of management is unacceptable for a building at this price point. read more

They offer the potential to win money for a 5 star review. They won't update you on the status of your heat not working for days, during below freezing weather. They won't update you on construction that's promised to start at 9am (it starts at 5am anyway), it's impossible to contact anyone after you sign your lease (annoying process anyway), construction nearby that literally knocks items off a bookcase from vibration. They'll install loud, broken air conditioning units above your bedroom. They won't cancel your renters insurance as promised. You can smell marijuana smoke in your "home" from the unit down the hall, along with plenty of other smells and noise from people playing instruments or loud video games with their door open, for example. Personally, I'd rather spend $1000 less a month to live somewhere nicer nearby instead of being subjected to consistent and large rent increases. They'll let you know when your car is stuck in the garage because the door doesn't open at least. It's not even a great area of town--depending on what you're looking for. read more

Our time at Axiom, though short, was not pleasant. We were told there was no construction in the area but there were machines running almost every morning. The halls always smelled of some kind of food and it went into our apartment. It is next to a factory that stinks where you would walk across the street to avoid the smell. We left at the end of our lease but we were charged for not giving them enough notice and they are trying to charge us more money. Since when do you have to notify someone that you are leaving at then end of a lease? There was a reason we had an end date. This is the first time that has happened and I have rented many apartments. My bike, stored in what was supposed to be a secure room, had damage and a wheel stolen yet nothing happened. Stay away. read more

Living in Axiom was a bittersweet experience. While I was initially excited about the perks of living here (proximity to work, the T, and the river as well as an amazing dog park nearby), the disadvantages soon started to outweigh the benefits. 1. The building manager named Tyler is terrible. He rarely answers emails or phone calls and if he does, he is very passive aggressive about it. When I asked the team to clean the vents in my apartment because I was having difficulty breathing and I asked whether this is a reason to terminate the lease early, he responded that I had not notified them that I had a condition in the past and that it is not their responsibility so I cannot terminate the lease early. 2. The building advertises luxury amenities, but the only real amenity (the gym) is not properly maintained. The equipment is not state of the art and as soon as it breaks, it is not repaired. There is also one of those workout mirrors, but no subscription is paid for it. Why get an expensive piece of equipment for nobody to use? 3. Prices are outrageous, but you pay for the area. After living in Axiom for two years I was offered a renewal letter for a tiny one-bedroom apartment for $3,600. For what you get, it is definitely not worth it. 4. The building uses Luxer One for delivery lockers. It is the only residence where I had to pay the locker fee instead of the building ($50/year). If you do not pick up a package within three days, you get charged $10/day. Furthermore, packages are constantly misplaced, lost, or simply left outside because the size of the locker does not reflect the number of units the building has. If you are going to charge me for a service, at least justify the costs of it 5. The move out experience was extremely stressful. First off, you get charged a professional cleaning fee of $100 at move out independent of whether you had your apartment cleaned beforehand. Second, whatever tiny repair that needs to happen, they will charge you $250; if you ask for a receipt for the actual work done to repair such item, it will say $250 (did they really repair it for that price?). Third, there was a picture in the inspection of a cracked ceiling in the unit very zoomed in, the wall tiles next to the ceiling did not match any of the walls in my apartment. When I sent them a video of the entire apartment showing that I did not have walls of that color, they argued that they couldn't verify that the damage wasn't there, and they were still going to charge. In summary, they will find whatever excuse they have to keep your security deposit and even charge you extra. There were only two positives in the experience. One of the previous leasing consultants (Lauren) was amazing and tried her best to make your experience better (unfortunately she left). The second is that the maintenance team is very responsive. However, these positives did not outweigh the cons of living here and I recommend anybody to just stay away from this building. read more

I would not recommend living at Axiom. For the price, you can find locations with better amenities, better upkeep, and much less day-to-day hassle. The good: Lauren, one of the administrative staff, is really kind and helpful. And the location is great; it's very close to the Charles river. The bad: Tenants are regularly subject to monthly hassles, subpar upkeep, repeatedly being ignored by management, and daily loud noise outside starting at 7am. Details: Staff: Lauren is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately though, many matters need to be handled through Tyler, who regularly ignores emails. I have sent Tyler emails on 4/14/21, 5/28/21, 7/3/21, 7/5/21, 7/11/21, 7/13/21, 7/25/21, 8/10/21, and 9/2/21. Tyler replied on 7/5/21 and 7/14/21. Location: The location is great - close to Kendall Square, and very close to what I consider the most beautiful portion of the Charles River. Amenities: If you visit, ask to see the gym. It is representative of our apartment: cheap and unmaintained. Management chooses short-term cost savings over long-term quality, with "star trac" equipment and squeaky treadmills due to poor maintanance. Also, take a look at the FITNESS ON DEMAND screen. It has been unlicensed for months, burning energy for no reason (the attached picture is from 9/4/2021). Unexpected fees: Other reviews mentioned unreasonable Luxer One fees, and management responded with a claim that Luxer One is a state-of-the-art utility that exists for the tenant's benefit. This is not true. I have lived in multiple luxury apartments with Luxer One, and every one except Axiom has paid the Luxer One fee for the tenant. It is more convenient for the building than for tenants. Hassle: Since moving in, our water and sewerage charge has been 10x (yes, 10 times!) what we have previously been charged, with no changes in daily activities (we are a couple with no kids). I alerted Tyler about this on 7/3/21 via email and also in person, along with a screenshot of false water activity while we were on vacation, and today (10/7/21) the issue has still not been resolved. Further, despite knowing about this, Axiom blocks our ability to pay rent due to "unpaid amounts" (water and sewerage), so every month we need to find someone in person to override system behavior, just so that we can pay our rent. Noise: Every morning, at 7am or before, a large dumpster pulls up right outside our window (apartments 201, 203, 301, 303, 401, 403, etc.) to shake large bins with tofu waste from the tofu factory next store. This is extremely loud. Picture attached. Further, again because of shoddy maintenance, fire alarms have gone off regularly, often during workdays and often for long periods. This is typically because of system configuration (e.g., maintenance being done on elevators) rather than actual smoke. read more

As an apartment complex, Axiom is fine. Very expensive for what it is, but that comes with the location. Tyler and Lauren are great, and maintenance is fairly responsive. However, as others here have noted, Axiom's parent organization (AIR Communities) is incompetent, dishonest, and predatory. When I moved out, they added hundreds of dollars of bogus fees (non-existent damage, supplemental cleaning charge even though I'd already had the place professionally cleaned, etc.) and initially refused to refund my security deposit. After this terrible experience, I'd steer very far away from any AIR Communities complex - not just from Axiom but also Prism and Vivo in the area. Save yourself some heartburn & look elsewhere! read more

I lived in this building for the first three years of its existence, this is what I experienced: Great neighborhood, nice building but be prepared to pay way too much and get "nickle and dimed" on EVERYTHING. Aimco put a lot of money into this building and they will find any way to save... including no temperature control in the hall ways, no door person / concierge, etc. You will pay Water, Gas, Sewage, High Rent, Electric, Insurance, Pet, Parking, etc. There are similar apartments all over the area that will not charge you water, sewage, cleaning fee's, etc. You are expected to have the unit spotless and carpets professionally cleaned at move-out... You will get charged a cleaning fee regardless. The paint in the unit will take the blue out of your jeans (it happened) Expect to be charged for everything in Axiom. Even the Luxor package system will charge you $10 a day after 3 days for not picking up... Lose your keys or locked yourself out? You are charged $100 for the door to be opened. Then another $150 for replacement. Management turnover is common and due to the lack of experience and perhaps training, I experienced a lot of unpleasant situations. The upper-management will dub them "learning experiences" but when you are paying $2,800 in rent, $300 in parking, and $75 pet, I am not interested in learning experiences. The managers are split with the Vivo building right by and getting correct, timely responses does not always happen. There is also a disconnect between the in-house managers and their corporate office. You will be sent surveys that they share with the management team, if you give honest answers, expect to be confronted and even harassed on a response that wasn't in their favor (another learning experience for Team Axiom) You will also experience large increases during lease renewal. Their new trick is to inflate the increase even more and offer you $40 off a month. The units have great appliances, back splash, etc. The closets are tiny and dark depending on your unit. The floors are a bamboo type and can get indented from your furniture. the court yard continues to be improved and can be a great spot if it isn't crowded. They advertise pet friendly which is hard to come by. It will take over a month to replenish dog waste bags. A well known local ice cream place moved into the retail unit of the building. This place is often packed, loud, and you will experience customers sitting all over the front of the building and leaving their ice cream and trash behind. Another weird thing is the frequency of fire alarms. I have never lived in a building that has had so many and in the middle of the night. The new manager just sent out reasons why like "a person fell on the alarm" There are community gatherings usually in the court yard or common room. They seem fine and the staff will drink and interact with you. Be prepared to see all the trash, including food (hot dogs, etc from opening day) still sitting there the next day. Stairwell has trash sitting there all the time.. (reusable dunkin cup has been there for months and is probably still there) In the past, if you experienced a noise issue, you were instructed to call the police so there was record... I am not sure if this is still the protocol as that was (3) property managers ago. Construction is at all an time high around the building as the neighborhood continues to grow and become more populated. The building does sit right next to a tofu factory, so you will get the smell some mornings and there is an early morning pick up of the tofu waste that is very loud (it dumps the curds into the truck from a lift) No verizon cell phone service - I had to get a land line. You are locked into Comcast in this building. As for community, there is not a real network of people who lived here for a long time. I had four neighbors in one unit, I suppose MIT or short term for work. They also rent out one of the first floor condos for work meetings or something, a bit weird but a source of revenue for them. It is close to the T and Kendall Sq but it is not as perfect as they pretend it to be. If price tag is not an issue and you aren't staying long, you will be fine. There are a lot of options poping up in the area and in Boston that will give you more bang for your buck. I regret living here for as long as I did but I am happy to be on to bigger, better, and cheaper. read more

I flew into the Cambridge area early last year for an apartment-hunting trip with a different apartment in mind. Then I accidentally stumbled into Axiom apartments while walking around the area, and wow am I glad I did! It was slightly out of my budget, but the ambience and freshness of the design and decor drew me in. I ended up compromising and paying little more, and have not regretted it since. The place is clean, always smells great, the neighbors and cleaning staff are super friendly, and my 2 year old loves it! The management has changed since I arrived, but everyone has been extremely helpful with every situation. Torrey and Hazim are top notch and always go out of the way to accommodate. Also, they are consistently accessible in the lobby area, Monday through Saturday. The wine and cheese nights don't hurt either. Great team and environment, keep it up! read more

Decided to take time to walk in the cambridge area and enjoy the sun in this weird tempatured winter we all having in Massachussetss. I walked by Axiom complex. Wow wow wow! Way to set the bar. As you walk in you notice the scent of lavender in the air. This is important to me because there is nothing like coming home to a well scented lobby! The property managemnet team invested in the luxbox. Its a secured high end delivery box. You may have seen it on shark tank. Really cool, The management team were really nice. As I looked around I noticed how well the team treated the residents. A+ cuatomer service. Once my lease is over I will be looking into Axiom apartment complex. Congrats Axiom peeps. You have pleased me without trying. This is what every complex should feel and look like. Keep up the great work! read more

We have been living for a year now. Building is managed well, no issues. Management treats everything with urgency. The only thing is that we are not happy with the renovations done, wish management got feedback from residents. There used to be private lounge/ business center for residents now it is an open space mainly occupied by management. The front door is always open. So far nothing happened in the building but the main door to the building shouldn't be open all the time. I see now some people came to look for an apartment and they are entering the building and going up to the floors, down to look at parking space without accompanied by realtors. There is a safety issue when the door is open all the time. Management is very responsive we are sure they will fix this issue and keep the doors closed so that only residents with access can enter the building. read more

Great apartment complex, all appliances are very good quality, and staff is friendly and incredibly helpful! really fast at resolving any issues. The area is quiet, safe and convenient! So far my experience has been all positive. read more

Really great apartment! 7min walk to green and red T-line and 1 min to Cambridge Side galleria. We love the gim and the appliances inside the apartment. Staff was very helpful with all the moving process. We also like that they clean everyday the community areas. So far the only tiny inconveniences are: bad T-mobile coverage, Rogers street is pretty dark at night and the fire alarm is crazy loud. Axiom is a nice place to live in Cambridge. read more

High-quality apartments and the complex has good amenities. Service staff are friendly, particularly Brendan, and very responsive. Almost all of my service requests have been addressed same or next day. Although I like the community room, residents--myself included--are less likely to use it with the management staff occupying the area. They are friendly, but it seems more appropriate for them to have dedicated offices. read more

be prepared to be charged exorbitant fees if you don't read your lease very carefully when you move in and remember everything it says months later when you move out. I had a short term rental there. perhaps 63 or 64 days before my lease was up, I find a lease renewal notice in my mailbox (which I was not expecting on a short term lease). I filled it out and apparently returned it 57 days before my lease was up and I found out that they charged me a 400 dollar late fee. they are banking on tricking you into paying a late fee because the company that owns the property has a call center in colorado which will call you if you are late on your payments, but not to warn you that they are about to charge you 110 dollars a day for not filling out a piece of paper to tell them something that they already know (that you do not plan to renew a short term lease, which is the definition of a short term lease!). note that my complaint is with the company, not the leasing agents or the staff that work there who are amazing people and super responsive, or the facility which is good. if you move there, just be prepared to deal with a corporation which is trying to trick you out of a few hundred dollars after you move out and read your lease once a week to make sure you don't get tricked into paying a hidden fee. read more

Axiom apartments is a beautiful apartment complex with a very welcoming staff. Like someone already mentioned, the person whose apartment we were going to move into decided to stay which was a little stressful. Great building, great managers. When I moved in, we had a hiccup with the previous tenant deciding not to move out. Windsor & Matt immediately got us into another apartment, same move in date. It was so stressful but very fortunately all worked out and now we're so happy. Apartment is clean, staff is responsive. Building is very safe. Also conveniently located between green and red lines. read more

It's a pretty good building with good staff. But The gym is blaring terrible corporate music on an infinite loop. Makes it unusable.

I absolutely love living at Axiom Homes, I have everything under one roof. Axiom has the best level of communication and it's all right at your finger tip, for example, paying your rent, putting in a work request, communicating directly with management, renewing your lease and so much more, all right from your PC. Axiom has one of the most modern and comfortable living environments around and its suitable for all ages and they have more than enough amenities such as clean modern exercise room, secure bike room, underground secured parking, entertainment for your pleasure such as a over sized courtyard /community room for your grilling and relaxation needs with flat screen TV's all though out the site. I also loved that Axiom has provided us with a new state of the art mail room for the safety of your packages. Axiom takes strides in making sure the grounds and the interior are well kept up and no matter how good things look around here there always doing more to make improvements, I almost forgot to mention how much I love the modernization and the unique contemporary look each floor holds. Last but not least, I love how they treat the animals that live in this building, they are just as much of a tenant as we are and it shows. Our animals have there pictures on the big screen as you walk through and they are equipped with doggie bones and poop bags just for our furry little animals. One other thing I always admired was how Axiom from day one has always maintained a family environment for all of us, always making it so that we can and will share everything that is available to all of us. (Oh yeah and lets not forget about the mall and the cheese cake factory is right out my back door) I absolutely love living here and I feel safe and secure in every aspect of the word. read more
