There is a really lovely saleslady at this Palmers who is super friendly, very funny and has a…read moresidekick, her personable Jack Russell dog. Together they take care of the client's queries, mine included, and tend to the garden centre. I really love them and wish I too could bring my pooch to work. This is a well-stocked Palmers garden centre with a huge nursery with seedlings, trees and pot plants for your home garden. Their vegetable seedling trays are in great condition, not spindly and over the mark as you will find in some establishments. I particularly like their gifts in the show room and have picked up a thing or two for friends and family here. Yes, they do gift wrapping.

Danny himself sells his palms out of a little caravan-type stall located on the edge of his palm tree paddocks off Hobsonville Road in West Harbour. Although I've never bought one of his palms, nor do I really plan to - I have to admit it is pretty cool seeing that many of them in one place. What jumps out at me the most about Danny's palms is how cute and country it is. You just wouldn't find something like it in central Auckland. Paddocks of trees, a tiny yellow caravan, the farmer actually selling his babies - it all has a really friendly, local, community vibe, and it's great. Danny's palms also offer free landscaping advice, so if you're planning on purchasing his trees, you may as well get his help with growing them and learn about what other plants and trees compliment the palms.

We stopped by here as we wanted to buy some orchids, and as we entered, we were greeted by a nice…read moreold man, who was polite and telling us where to find the orchids, until an old woman came along, who gave off the impression that she was very stressed or something, and was not willing to be helpful. We asked her the price of the plant and we stood for a minute wondering whether it was worth paying that much for the orchid. Before we even opened our mouth or said anything to her, the woman made a snide remark loudly comparing us to Filipinos for contemplating whether we wanted to purchase the orchid. We decided to dismiss it and tried to find a smaller one so we wouldn't pay as much, I was conversing in my mother tongue to my mother, when the lady barks "Speak English to me". We were appalled by how the woman was not willing to help us in a calm and professional manner, we decided to leave and thanked her, only to have her ignore us and turn on loud music as if she were trying to insult us. I've never met someone so appalling in a business trying to sell. If you want to sell things, be polite and don't be openly racist. Hardly surprised the other two reviews are negative as well.

I didn't wear my glasses, and the GpS brought me to this plants garden. The old woman was shouting at me. She was asking me these questions which as following: Am I look like a strawberry? Are you stupid? Do you have brain? Can you use your bloody brain,You are silly woman. . And blah blah~ she was very rude to me. And I was so annoying about her reaction.
