Real Italians and Real Coffee!…read more What a nice find. A great little cafe to really get a true "European" experience. It always makes me laugh when you have an authentic Italian cafe no matter what country you're in.....yet no Italians are there. In Ingolstadt, that all changes. The city is already one of the nicest in Germany, so sweetening that up with a little Italian cafe makes it even better. Simply put....they make great coffee here. One of the better I've had in Germany. They also have a nice food selection for small snacks and light meals. Focaccia bread pizza, pannini, etc. There's also a full bar if you come back in the evening. Overall just a great little place to stop and take it easy or meet up with friends as I did. You'll see a lot of Audi employees fueling up here before heading to work. That's good because they know where to go! Plenty of outdoor seating makes warm days very relaxing and unlike anything I could find at home......they got warm wraps to borrow if you still sit outside when it's cold. Only downside is that it gets packed inside....especially when a soccer match is on, and the bathrooms are really tiny. Just be aware. Extra tip: Try the lemon soda.....so good!

I actually stopped ordering in German and switched to English when they seemed to have trouble understanding my (Bavarian accented, at that) German. Odd, but okay. This happened both times I went, with different staff members. All of them were friendly though. Ok, so most taps are non-German. They do have plenty of German beers in bottle. And their spirits selection is quite large, but I assume much of it is past its prime - this doesn't seem like the kinda place where all of the Scotch whisky flies off the shelves, for example. Just a guess, I can't back up either claim. The Guinness was only okay. They claim to have food but I never saw any proof of it. I didn't see any TVs either. And their music is pretty bad...nothing even resembling Irish pub music, either traditional or modern day. It's fine for a drink, but there are better places in Ingolstadt.

The Amadeus or Ama as many call it is mostly frequented by the younger crowd which makes it fun sometimes. The club is located in a basement, practically without any ventilation. This gets really annoying after midnight when tons of people come in. Don't expect cleanliness either. Bathrooms are definitely gross which explains why many would rather go outside to do what they have to.

What the Americans call 'pretzels' pale in comparison to the authentic (and incredibly fresh)…read more'butterbrezel' that we devoured at Das Mo. Not once, but twice...we had to go back the next day for more. On our first visit here, we were with a large group...which probably accounted for the spotty service. (It took over 30 minutes to get my drink.) But, our leberkase and potato salad were both really good (OK...not as great as my first unforgettable leberkase in Viktualienmarkt in Munich, but respectably close). On our second visit, we had Schweizer Wurstsalat...a new favorite of mine. It was not so filling...leaving plenty of room for that butterbretzel. Service was perfect this time...and, the place was crowded with happy beer-drinking faces. The highlight...the construction apprentices dressed in traditional garb asking for support during their year long unpaid training. That's 2 Euros I consider really well invested...
