Now, my real issue was I had an earring literally stuck in my ear, the back would not come off. Trish mentioned if we can't get it out Levi could cut it out for me, which honestly almost made me pass out! I am the biggest coward when it comes to stuff like this! So.... Levi had it cut and out in a second, Trish made me sit down because she thought I was going to pass out. Then she cleaned my ear and they made sure I was okay and then let me go on my way. Everyone there is ALWAYS kind, friendly and extremely helpful. Jade and Trish have helped me out before. Don't let Jared scare you, he can't help himself!!! He's really great too! It's also very nice still seeing Jerry (spelling?) there after all these years in business! I highly recommend Kiney's for brand new jewelry or repairs, they will always do right for you! The problem is, I get off work at 5pm, and most of these business close at around that time or soon after. This is why the chain stores are getting most of the business. When I asked for a repair on my 18k gold necklace, which I did not purchase from them, one of the staff members looked at me disdainfully. She picked up the necklace as if it were contaminated and said, "This is not one of our chains." I clarified that I had already mentioned I didn't buy it from their store. I do not respond well to snobby attitudes! Their sign out front says "goldsmith," which implies they have the tools to fix or create jewelry. Instead, she told me they couldn't help me and sent me to Kline Jewelers. I guess they will be the ones to get my money! I'm not in Arizona anymore to ask my great uncle, who is a silversmith, to fix it. I had hoped to give these folks a try since I heard from some people at FCC Allenwood that they do repairs. It's frustrating, considering my ethnicity as a Native American, specifically Diné, seems to lead to assumptions that I couldn't possibly own gold. When we are excellent silver smithing people, I will never give these people a good review, even if they paid me. Do not buy from them go to Kline jewelers! They were so pleasant and kind!

The first was a visit to see how much the repair would cost. The lady didn't even look at me and I didn't like the 'vibe' so I left. My second contact was on a weekend and Lisa was there. She's awesome and very welcoming and pleasant enough to make me leave my jewelry to be repaired. I didn't ask for an ETA when I dropped off but did call Thursday of the following week and whoever answered the phone in the early afternoon sounded as if they may have just rolled out of bed with a cigarette in their mouth and was clearly indifferent to my inquiry. The third contact was a call from Lisa for pick up on Friday. Nice and pleasant interaction. When I picked up I believe it was the artist that waited on me. Pleasant enough. I was just getting new earring hangers which ran $70+ tax. Doesn't take the artists time as anyone can put them on but they are rough around the cuts on both that poke into my skin. My previous hangers someone took the time to solder a small smooth ball onto the hanger to help prevent the poking. They also kept my previous findings so they collect a little scrap to make new earring hangers that poke you in the head for $70 for 2000 earrings. Their PSU jewelry line is pretty cool.
