Waited a bit to pick up my car. Staff working decided to answer a call after I had already walked in and was answering their general questions. Definitely feel like priority should be changed. I was in and out within 2-3 min, which was longer than I was waiting for (10 min on the phone). The car they provided me had a lot of dings. Staff had apologized that the car was all dusty too... Even worse, it had 3/8 gas filled. I absolutely hate picking up cars without a full tank...so definitely not in the best mood when it already had less than half a tank. Car passenger handle was gone.. Small lot. Be careful getting in and out. Borderline 1 star experience. Probably 1.5 stars. I've just had so many horrendous car rental experiences, that this was borderline there as well. Hoping Avis can correct some of their issues across all of their locations in the US. read more

We had family in town visiting so needed a larger vehicle. Made reservation online an hour before pickup. The guy at the counter (Jerry) was very friendly and accommodating. The SUV was cleaned for us and we were quickly on our way. It's located in Venice on Lincoln Blvd in a convenient area. It's about 15 mins from LAX (depending on traffic of course), so it's a good option to rent from. Rented from Budget but I guess most local Avis' are connected to Budget as well. This will be our go to when we have visitors! read more

I usually don't write reviews for car rental spots because they're mostly all the same but I had to share some love for Jerry and this location. Jerry was hands down the friendliest and most helpful customer service representative that I've dealt with in a very long time. The pick-up was seamless and the Camaro was awesome, but what really drove it home for me was when I needed to modify my rental after picking it up and Avis HQ told me I needed to contact the location I picked it up from. When I called Jerry, I explained my (kind of complicated) situation involving a rental extension and a different drop off location. Jerry laid out all of my options and helped me save a ton of money versus making my changes online. Thanks again Jerry! read more

Had some trouble getting a 4WD vehicle at another Avis but the Venice location helped us out and was very accommodating with timing of pickup-- Pam was so great. Then on our trip we discovered the car had a nail in the tire (not really something they could have checked/avoided) and had to replace the tire, and they were super chill and made the replacement/reimbursement process go smoothly and take up a minimum of our vacation time. These guys are easy to work with. Great location, looks like a high end Avis location. Never seen a location so nice. Service was easy and there centrally located. In the heart of Venice beach. I would highly recommend renting from this location. Rates and service was great. They also gave me a free upgrade that made the experience even better. Call them direct for the best price and service. I've rented from the local Enterprise, no comparison. Avis Venice beach is where it's at. Btw, go for a convertible. I don't write reviews. I think they're stupid. Most of the time, it's just a bunch of people who want to be heard (who shouldn't be, EVER!) people who are always in a bad mood who just want a bi**h. However, one person change my view on that entirely. That person made me want to write a review explaining just how awesome they were, and how great the experience they gave me was. Where you ask? DRUMROLL!!!! Renting a car! I know, right!?! But I'm serious! I have been renting cars from AVIS everyday for the last 5 months. Fun, I KNOW! Before I came to this location (AVIS VENICE) I was having daily panic attacks (literally) EVERY TIME I went to the AVIS Santa Monica Blvd/Broxton ave (WEST LA) location. Literally, I had no idea what they would say they were going to charge me, verses what would ACTUALLY end up on my credit cards when I got home! EVERY FU**ING TIME!!! But then... Something magical happened! I realize that there was an Avis a few blocks from my house! And oh my goodness! Not only would I end up saving a small fortune on rentals, I would've also saved a fortune on all of the therapy I had to have because of that stupid place on Santa Monica Blvd!! The Venice Avis location is the best car rental location in Los Angeles! I am not exaggerating! The customer service they're literally blows my mind. The store manager Jerry treats me like a human being. Crazy right?!? But seriously... He'll steer you in the correct direction to get the best deal, as well as make sure that you understand what you're signing. Simply put, he's a man of his word. He does what he says, and he says what he does! I'm not just saying that. (Trust me I am not getting paid to endorse him! LOL.) For 17 years, I had worked in customer service as a bartender, somm, liquor rep, a fine dining server. you name it I've done it! Through those trades I learn not only how to read people, but also how to deal with people who think they are always right because they're the customer, (you know, AS***LES ) But seriously, Jerry goes above and beyond.
