(The option for this prompt is NOT given in the greeting). Every single time, the phone rings, recording says "all agents are busy, please hold" then it plays music a while, then it says "leave a recording" and then automatically hangs up. My real issue is National filed a damage claim on the car. I had pointed out the damage before accepting the car (walked all the way back to the counter and showed a picture). The agent said it, "Oh, we'd forgotten about that" and it would be noted. The car was still totally driveable, so I didn't care. When returning the car, I pointed out the issue again so they'd know it was not my fault, and that agent also said "don't worry." THEN, a week later, I get a nasty e-mail from the Damage Recovery Unit at National. Thank goodness I have a picture of the damage from the day & time I picked up the car, otherwise they'd pin it on me. Now I just have a bureaucratic mess to sort out. I don't know if this issue is rooted in laziness, incompetence, or dishonesty on National's part, but YOU ARE BETTER OFF RENTING ELSEWHERE!

I strongly suggest that you do not dilly-dally when you get off the plane. Go directly to the counter, which is near the luggage carousel. Do not let someone else walk ahead of you. At 10:00 at night, I was the second person off my plane to get to the counter and it took about 5 minutes for that guy to get served. By the time I was served, there were five people waiting behind me and I'll bet they would not be giving this place five stars. The kid was polite and efficient, but one at a time is slow. Car choices were limited. I didn't really care, so I took whatever he offered me. Which turned out to be a Jetta wagon one week and a severely underpowered Dodge Avenger the next week. Returning is easy. Note your mileage and gas tank status when you park the car in the garage and then bring the keys to the counter to get checked in. They did a good job and it was very efficient. Tip: Take several pictures of your rental car when you return it. I've never had a problem with National, but with the pictures I am covered in case some random damage appears later.
