Ricardo told me to stop calling their phone and I call too much! When I ask who does he think he is talking to he told me if I don't like it I can return my car and go else where. Avis Rent A Car - Horrible customer service. - Car Rental Near Me - Aventura, Florida

This was by far the worst rental experience I've ever had with Avis and I've been a loyal customer for years. The vehicle itself was fine, but the manager at the Avis location in Aventura Mall, Florida was shockingly rude and unprofessional. We had a confirmed reservation, but when we arrived, there were no cars available. That part was understandable since we were late. However, when we politely asked when a vehicle might be ready, the manager raised his voice and dismissively said, "Whenever they arrive." After insisting for some clarity, he finally said 1:30 p.m. When we returned at that exact time, he immediately shouted from across the parking lot, "I still don't have a car!" and when we tried to ask a follow-up question, he cut us off and said, "If you don't like it, you can leave." While waiting, two other customers told us they had also been mistreated one even said the manager had locked them out of a vehicle. It's deeply disappointing to see this kind of behavior at an Avis branch. The car was fine, but the customer service was unacceptable. Avis corporate should seriously review how this location is being managed it reflects terribly on an otherwise reliable company. read more

I rent a car for a period of 35 days. When I returned the car ( on the day and time foreseen on the rental agreement ,)the agent split the 35 days into two separate periods ( don't ask me why) and now I see that I have been charged $80,81 . it is a theft!!!! I reserved a vehicle at the Sunny Isles location and let's say that I didn't receive the best customer service and my vehicle was not available. I have been President Club member for 14 years and have been renting with Avis for 20+ years. However, my loyalty ends today, as I have never been treated with such unprofessionalism and with such mistreatment as at Avis Aventura Mall. On August 2, 2023, I reserved a car from Avis for one of my employees flying in for business. The rental was to be ready at noon for pick up on August 20th. I reserved a Ford Edge or similar large car plus my usual 2+ upgrades that I always receive. Avis called me on the day of pickup to tell me that they didn't have a car at noon, and we must come in at 2:00 pm to get a car. Not only do they not have a car, when I told them about my upgrade they told me they have ZERO upgrades and am getting a smaller car than I requested. By my President Club member status, per Avis's policy I am entitled to receive two upgrades. When I brought that to the Avis representative's attention, she told me that was "too bad" and if I wanted a guarantee, I needed to be a Chairman Club member. I told him that this has never happened to me in the 20+ years I have been renting with Avis. She rudely replied - "there's a first time for everything" and told me if I was unhappy to rent somewhere else. I can no longer support a company who does not honor their own policies or even attempt to rectify the situation and just turns their customers away. Shameful. read more

Zero stars is appropriate. While the location is convenient the service is terrible. The cars never have gas in them, they are filthy and the washer fluid is almost always out. The staff can not communicate effectively with you. They over book and are never solution oriented. read more

They quote one price and then double your costs with all sorts of excuses; one example: they ask if you want to fill up the gas tank or have them do it; you opt to do it yourself and you do 1/4 of a mile from the delivery at the airport, but they charge you for service anyway! So I came back the next day and it was as though he had no idea who I was even though he told me to return at that time. Luckily, the car was available however, it wasn't without much back-and-forth and waiting before being able to get the car, I do not suggest renting from this location. There is no efficiency in the way this location works and I am writing this review as I am waiting to return the car as there is no one in the office. read more

They don't honor rentals and overbook rentals. They instructed me to go to the airport to get a car and after Ubering to the airport was told they had no cars. So $60 down the drain chasing a rental that was not there. I would only book with them if I didn't need to have the car. Horrible service for a preferred member. read more

Do not rent a car with AVIS at the Aventura Mall, the worst experience ever!!! I rented a car and I had a lot of problems not only with the car but with the "non assistance" that these guys gave us. I spent 2 days with my family trying to resolve the problems of the car and NOBODY neither in Avis assistance phones nor in the Aventura Mall helped us. I will sue the company and will not rent a car ever in my life with Avis again. read more

Avis rental...worst experience ever. Since the pick up time of this rental at Aventura location and after seeking help through it the experience was the worst I have gone through as an Avis First Preferred user. I'm really disappointed with it. Not sure that the space provided here will be sufficient to detail what happened but I will try. trying to summarize....the car was delivered dirty, cigarette smell inside and worst of all grease spots all over the dash and center console also the car was given with less that a quarter tank...almost no fuel in it. It was really bad. Since it was not at Miami Airport that was the only option they had and told me if I wanted a better option I needed to go to FLL or MIA airport.....really? for an Avis frequent user like me this is beyond awful. When requested their help they located a unit in Orlando for next morning pick up to swap the unit, they didn't confirmed and when we took time in the morning to go for pick up the unit was worse and smaller than the one we had...we wasted two hours in the morning for this. Consider that the day before I requested specifically to the rep at the Aventura location to verify for sure to avoid wasting time.....and still this happened. Just complete lack of customer service and willingness to help and the family waiting to go to the parks. On the way back the Aventura location didn't clarified that upon our return day and time they would be closed, this resulted in the great inconvenience of having to drive all the way to Miami airport with a sleepy family and still get charged excess time since by the time we went to Miami Airport we obviously exceeded our time allowed within the rental agreement.
