We had a great experience at this car dealership. Maurice Houston is a great guy who will really try to work with you and help you out. He was more than willing to answer all of our questions and help us understand the different options when it came to the car we wanted, the mileage options, and how this all would reflect our monthly payments. It was very comforting to know that it was not someone who was trying to rush and pressure us into something. Very grateful to Maurice, the Finance Office, and the dealership in general. The Quicklane Dept has horrible horrible service! I will not go back! I took my daughters car there to have the brakes checked out just for the tech to leave without checking them out. They never mentioned this to us and we come to pick it up because they were about to close and they never called or texted us letting us know if our vehicle is ready. We took it back the next day for a simple brake inspection and after six hours of no update I finally called just for them to tell me they hadn't even started. We were offered a potential oil change for our inconvenience by an employee and when we bring it up to the manager he says that if the employee who offered the oil change wanted to pay for then we could have it. After bringing my truck to get the breaks done, it developed a squeak and the brakes stick just before stopping and again when starting back up. I have brought it in 3 more times to have them fix this, each time they replace the wrong parts charge me 100's of dollars and still the problem has not been fixed. Last time I bought it in, they told me they couldn't find a problem but yet my breaks squeaked the whole way home. They never even test drove it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! Never, ever bring your vehicle here for repair. Even with the best ESP warranty purchased they will deny your claims at any cost. They do not care about the customer, they do not want to repair your vehicle even when it's a factory issue that has been well documented all over the internet. i cannot say enough good things about avis ford. they were my last point of contact in getting my vehicle repaired after an accident, and even though getting into an accident in general is a nightmare, my visit here completely made up for it. i needed a new passenger front tire due to the collision, and i had just had the front bumper repaired at the avis ford body shop. it was near closing time (about 30 minutes prior) and my husband called to see if they could put a new tire on my car if we got there in the next 5 minutes (the body shop is right down the road from the dealership). the service advisor was extremely nice and said he would service us as long as we got there within the next 5-10 minutes. we literally rushed to get there and everyone was so nice to us. we joked around with the guy at the service counter (can't recall his name), and he made our experience so pleasant. we were in and out with the new tire in about 20 minutes. we had bad experiences with another local ford dealership that we will no longer be going to. avis is definitely our new place to get our vehicles serviced. they also text you when your vehicle is ready which is extremely convenient! read more

They were quick to take my money and very slow to return my calls on service. Between calling back and forth and dealing with the same very rude lady on the phone multiple times; to an associate bringing their kid into the service garage and having to repeat my info multiple times as she wrangled her child. And once I was able to get results and picked up my car, I noticed damage on my driver seat. Nearly three weeks later still no resolution. It's frustrating to know that I trusted this dealership, and three months into owning the car- issues and poor service. Please look elsewhere for your next Ford vehicle. Edit: Fast Forward three weeks later. They addressed the damaged seat but it's been silent about my missing engine cover. They're like an ex that doesn't want to call and end it like an adult and would rather think you'll forget eventually. Sick to my stomach. Last week, I signed a contract on a 2013 Focus at Avis Ford only to have them call me today to tell me my lease payment will go up by $20 per month (a total of $720 over 36 months). I can not afford the increase and had to give up my car on the spot! I want Avis Ford to honor the terms of the agreement we signed off on. I am a grad student with outstanding credit. I spent a long time looking for the right car that I could afford. I feel cheated. Update: The service manager contacted me to say that he was sorry that I was so unhappy and that he wanted to make everything right so I would no longer have a poor opinion of them. And he really did make everything better. He had a driver pick up my car from work and drop off a rental for me to use. They took care of the noise in the headliner, made sure my sunroof still worked then cleaned--in fact, completely detailed the whole car. Even the pine needles my hubby hadn't been able to get out after Christmas are now gone. Then the driver dropped my car off for me, and had me inspect it before he left my presence. Needless to say, if they performed this kind of service every time, I would gladly come here for my vehicle's service. read more

First of all, I still LOVE MY 2013 Ford Escape which I bought in April from the excellent salesperson, John Beauchamp, who has worked with my parents as well. He is more than just a sales person, he will work with you for weeks or months on end to find a car that meets the exact specifications you're looking for for the right price. I would highly recommend him. Bonus points for coincidentally giving a health professional a license plate that has the letters 'CPR.' :) First oil change with my new ford escape was free, fast, and pain-free (couldn't think of a third F word that applies, maybe friendly!) I came at 5 on a Thursday and expected to have a long wait. Handed over my keys and hit up some stores across the street. Was back by 6 and my car was done. The technician went over a whole checklist with me, verifying that everything was safe and running well in my ford. The overall bill would have been for about 30$, so since I had a good experience, I will plan to return for my next oil change unless I see a better deal in Ann Arbor pop up in the meantime! read more

We purchased a (used) 2003 Ford Excursion at Avis Ford. My hubby had been reading Diesel Power magazine for about a decade. He really wanted to get us a diesel hauling vehicle "someday..." One day we decided that we should just get one already. It didn't take long to find one he liked in Wheeler Dealer. He went to check it out. The guy admitted that he didn't know a whole lot about the Excursion product. Not much at all. Good thing Hubby had done all the research. We were told that the truck we were buying had been checked over thoroughly. The guy at Avis Ford said that they didn't want to "sell junk." Later, after we got it home, hubby said he could not understand why the radiator had clear liquid in it. The hygrometer test said it was good to -30 F, and the liquid smelled like ethylene glycol, but why was the liquid clear? Hubby took the truck to a nearby Ford dealer for a second opinion. They gave it a once-over and the people there said that they didn't know of any clear radiator product. Oh, well... We are happy with our purchase, though it's only been a week. The truck had been well cared for. It looks nearly new, and still had the original plastic protective sheeting on the floor mats! Unbelievable. This truck will last longer than we will. read more

I was working with salesman in the used car dept for 3 days for a mustang. His name was Jason. We agreed upon a price and I was going to go up to the dealership to purchase it, when all of the sudden I get a text message from him stating me that it sold the night before. I even talked to him on the phone at 6pm that night and he did not state anything about it being purchased or someone looking at it (it is in the used car lot and only used car guys sell used cars)! This review is for Avis Ford Service. In comparison to Royal Oak Ford and other dealership service centers in general I was very impressed. First my vehicle was promptly received at the agreed appointment time. I didn't have to call for a status as they stayed in regular communication over the status. Although they were delayed in looking at it the first day, they offered me a free rental without even being asked. As you would expect they found the issue and resolved. Finally, what I really liked was they provided a truly comprehensive vehicle report card where they had actually checked many items and delivered that in an easy to read status sheet. Here's my final review of this place because we will never return for purchasing or servicing anything here again. After a poor service experience we thought we could try it again. This time, a huge failure in communication and customer service. We dropped off our car for recall repairs at 930am. We called them at 430pm to learn the status since we never received a call. Conveniently it was "just finished and completing the paperwork now". When they called at 5pm, they never said that fyi tomorrow, Saturday, the service department isn't open just sales, nor did they day that at dropoff. When we called on Saturday, they said sorry service isn't open so you'll have to wait until Monday morning. I spoke to their sales manager and explained we had an engagement on Sunday and had to be at work Monday morning. Therefore waiting to Monday is terribly inconvenient, what can you do to help me? He checked for any loaner cars, but said there weren't any, sorry can't do anything for you. I asked if he could call the service manager, he said no, they're not on call and wouldn't try. He also said that because it's a separate department, he or no one else in the building could open it up to release the car. He suggested I rent a car but said I could ask service on Monday for reimbursement, but he couldn't guarantee it. I wasn't going to spend more money on their mistake. At the end of the conversation, this sales manager said, I can't do anything for you and this conversation is over in a very curt tone. I was shocked. I asked really? That's your level of customer service? In a rude tone, he said sorry there's nothing I can do. I explained I purchased our car there, already experienced poor customer service previously, this will be the last time I step foot in that place, and I'll be writing poor reviews on the place. He said do what you want to do, I'm done with this conversation. Wow! I will never come back here and I'll discourage anyone asking about service or purchasing cars to stay clear of this place. read more

18 month old truck brought in with a terrible engine noise on May 20th. Was told to make an appointment which was May 31st. Was told after they had it all day that they didn't have a technician to look at it and they would call me when someone could do it. Never heard back so I took it elsewhere. The other dealership looked at it and orders all parts. In what could only be a joke I was called today (6 weeks later) by Alan and was told they could get me in next week to take a look at it. I voiced my displeasure telling him how could they expect me to wait that long and he cut me off mid sentence and said; "thanks and hung up." This is the 16th Ford vehicle I have owned. We buy 3 vehicles a year from Ford from my work. This is a dealership 3 miles from my work and now I know and have confirmed why I will never ever set foot in this place ever again. So I took my F150 for a warranty repair on my seat warmer that went bad and a switch that also went bad that prevented me from enjoying heat or my AC. I was originally pleased with Larry as he welcomed me to the shop and took up my service order. He seemed knowledgeable and friendly and his estimate was accurate and timely. I ended up having to do a few other maintenance service items which I foresaw I needed to anyway. I'm generally pleased with the service as it was delivered as promised and to the cost that was estimated. The reason I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of 3 or possibly 4, is because after I picked up my truck and I reviewed my check-in inspection sheet, the technician clearly indicated that my front brakes needed work (in the red, basically shot), and my service advisor never said anything about it in the 2 times that I spoke with him over the span of the 2 days that all my service work took. I'm ok with the 2 days, don't get me wrong, I don't expect all warranty parts to be available at all shops. However, I need my advisor to read the technician's report and bring things that need repair to my attention so they can be dealt with while the vehicle is still there. Coming to find out after I leave that I need to take my truck in again somewhere for brakes was just annoying, and it's one less service that they were able to profit from. For some reason they also forgot to put a new sticker on my windshield for when I need my new oil changed. All in all, no biggie, I would probably still go back to take my truck in for service here or there as it's close to my work, but I would advise Avis to tighten up their service-customer processing procedures so that service that is needed is actually brought to the attention of the customer and then both advisor and customer can decide what to do about it. It just feels silly and annoying that the report itself says I need the work done and I drove off thinking I've maintained my truck with what I was due only to find out I need to take it in again. I don't know anything about their vehicle sales or deals, I would assume they're a good dealership overall. read more

I only had a simple question to ask. They may be nice when you purchase the car, but it only goes downhill after that. Also not sure if they are following proper procedures here. John (the manager) said more information was required before they would cancel my warranty and refund me. Yet, I never gave them that information and they still cancelled it and sent me a check! Seems like a not so bad situation. However, I purposely was not giving him that information because I changed my mind and was up in the air if I wanted to cancel the warranty. Do not come here! Bought a battery 12-10-13. Fast forward to 06-12-17 need it replaced. "We need you to leave it overnight"... "no" "We need you to make an appointment" The times available were in my schedule of work. I could have came in around 2pm the next day 4 hours before you close then I'm told by the cashier that anyone coming in past 230 needs to leave it overnight. How I equate this: Avis Ford did not want any money. You let me walk out the door and go somewhere else; and that is exactly what I did! When I bought the battery in 2013 I did not have these conditions set forth. Mind you I had to get a jump start before I left. So clearly my car is not at it's optimal performance. I almost always refer to Yelp reviews before selecting a business. Had I done this before getting involved with the service people at Avis Ford, I never would have gone there. I unfortunately made an impetuous decision. After looking at all of the Yelp reviews where folks complained about the customer service, I agree with those complaints. So here is my sad story. I decided that after owning a Prius, that I would go for a Ford C-Max Hybrid. That in itself was not mistake, I don't think. The car has had more than its share of recalls, and it does not get the gas mileage that was advertised at the time I bought it, but I generally like the car. However, a few days ago, I noticed a dripped deposit of an oily substance on the cargo cover. This is the roller that retracts to cover the cargo area in the back. The C-Max is a hatchback. Thinking that I might have soiled the cover (not the case), I got some spray cleaner and cleaned up he dripped oily stuff. Then two days later, I noticed that much more had dripped down on the cargo cover. I saw that there was a grease stain on the headliner and that the grease seemed to be dripping down from the top to the cargo cover and carpeting. So I called Avis Ford and spoke with a service scheduler there. I asked some technical questions, but she was not a tech and told me that they would look at it when I brought it in. I scheduled right away. I brought it in before 8 AM. After the dealer had the car all day, I received a call from the Service Advisor saying that my car was ready. I asked what they found and how they resolved the problem. "Oh, there was nothing we could find wrong with the car."; he said. So I still have a leaking dripping car and I still have a badly stained headliner, I asked? "There is nothing we can do." Did you research the problem, I asked? "No." Where is the motor that controls the back hatch, I asked? "I don't know." Could it be leaking somehow from outside the car through where the antenna for the GPS system is mounted right above where the stain is; I asked? "There is nothing we can do as this is not a known issue". So you intended to just give me back my defective broken car and decided not to address my problem, I asked? "We don't know where the oil is coming from. Maybe you got the oil on the inside somehow". "We have no way to get Ford to pay for this". It was not convenient for them to resolve my issue, they had no way to charge Ford Motor Company for the repair, and they shined me on. I am still stuck with the problem. They don't care. After talking with the service advisor on the phone, I then called Ford Motor Company Customer Service. It has been more than two days since I called them and I have not yet heard back from them after a promise of a two day response. When I do hear from them, I will post another Yelp review on Ford Motor Company. I certainly hope that they will do better than Avis Ford. They can't do any worse. When I went to pick up my car, I escalated the problem. I spoke with a customer service manager, but he too was unable and/or unwilling to help me. I looked him straight in the eye and asked him if he were me and if it was his brand new car, what would he do if there was an oil leak inside his car and if the storage area was unusable because of the dripping staining liquid? He couldn't look me back in the eye. He said that he felt conflicted because he could not say what he would do as a customer when he was unable to do anything for me as a dealer. It was an honest answer, but not an acceptable one. Now for a brief moment, let's assume that I actually did do the damage myself. I suppose that it is conceivable that I might have had a seizure in the middle of the night, sleep-walked to my car, drove to Meijer's and bought a can of spray on oil; then drove back to my house, popped open the hatch, laid on my back and sprayed oil at the headliner, closed the hatch, went back to sleep and never remembered any of that... It is possible, but I doubt it. But let's make believe that it could have happened. Does that make it OK for Avis Ford Service Department to totally ignore my request to resolve the problem? Remember, I was contacted and told that my car was "ready." Does that make it OK for Avis Ford Service Department to not have researched potential causes of the problem? Does that make it OK for Avis Ford to transfer the product issue from them to me and let me deal with Ford Motor Company? I think not to all of the above. They have acted deplorably. My experience at this dealership was as bad as a service experience can be. I will not return there for an oil change, a scheduled service interval, a paid repair, an inspection, for parts and most of all not as a customer for a new vehicle. I was not treated like a valued customer. They do not deserve my business. Caveat Emptor. read more

Service representatives here are always super nice and accommodating. I feel that they really care if the customer is happy at this location. I also take my care to the quickie-lane place here for all my oil changes. They had a great deal that offered 3-for-1 oil changes that they sent out through the mail....so watch for these! Keely, who works at the Quicklane, is the sweetest girl I have ever met here...she was so so nice when I came in for my oil change and to redeem that coupon that they sent me. That salesman, James, was rude and deliberately trying to chase me away. He started asking for my car keys, car registration and so on. He claims it is "company policy". I was very happy with this dealership when I bought my car. JZ was extremely helpful and never once tried to pull any sleazy car salesman tricks. Very professional, friendly and not pushy. JZ has continued to be extremely helpful whenever I need anything and I would definitely go through him again if I were to buy another Ford. From a buying standpoint, I would give this dealership 5 stars. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because I think their service department deserves no stars at all. The "quicklane" does not accept appointments and has had more than a three hour wait the last two times I showed up. I was told it's better to call ahead and that Tuesday mornings are best. I'm not sure who Tuesday mornings work well for... I tried calling 5 different times in a month (even including on Tuesday morning) and was never told a waiting time under two hours. I finally gave up and now drive 25 minutes to Skalnek Ford in Lake Orion for my oil change/tire rotations. They take appointments and are much more polite. In and out in 30 minutes at times when it's convenient for me. read more

I took my 2008 escape to avis ford due to a recall. I wanted to get an oil change, flush, as well as an inspection to check my breaks among other things. I took my car in being wary, because I really don't trust anybody but my usual mechanic on my car. I have been overcharged, and ripped off before. I needed to get a hose replaced, which I authorized. I'm going to pick up my car, and come to find out they replaced a motor in my back windshield. Which I did not authorize. It is completely unacceptable to not Get authorization from a client on something that's wrong with her car. Additionally, they did not check my brakes. And now, three weeks later I'm having to take my car back in to get new breaks. I don't have time for silly trips. I'm not a fan of taking my car to just anybody, I was reminded why when I took it to avis ford. read more
