DO NOT BOOK! Look, I…read moredo not write poor reviews since I know sometimes service can be dependent on specific individuals, but I have consistently received poor service dealing with these frauds from Sicily By Car in Venice and would like to warn others to avoid their vacations being ruined. Go with someone else. When we first picked up our vehicle we were met with an extremely rude woman. We needed our car so we brushed it off and continued with our rental. We picked up our dented vehicle (all on the damage report) checked for any other unclaimed damages and went on with our way. About half way through the drive we decided to turn on the radio - to our surprise it did not work, and again, brushed it off and thought nothing of it wanting to get to our destination. When we finally got to our destination in Croatia (darker outside at the time) we noticed that when we turned off the vehicle the radio had a red backlight that would not turn off. It is important to note you could not see this during the day. We tried everything. We did not have a working phone at that time so we decided to deal with this in the morning since there was very little we could do at that time. In the morning we went to our rental car and the battery died, at this point we were able to locate a phone that we could use and called the customer service line. They were extremely rude, unhelpful and unkind. After multiple calls, we finally had a service vehicle pick up the car and take it to the garage. Please note when the mechanic picked up the car he noted that this car was extremely unsafe - the tires were completely warn. With no choice they took the car and we waited for a response. We attempted to get them to drive us a new car since we were missing very important events but all they said was take a taxi. We were in a small remote town where there was no taxi and no way to travel except by using a car. They were again, rude and unprofessional and very unwilling to help us. We were advised, after multiple calls, that we could take our current rental car once working and drive it to Trieste to exchange. The next day the mechanic let us know that the car was on and we could drive it to Italy. We did this and went to the Trieste airport to exchange and missed another day of activities (2 hour drive one way). We continued with our vacation. When we returned the car we asked if there was anything else and to ensure there were no open points. They said there was nothing. We also asked for credit back from the hassle and the missed days without a car, but they let us know everything has to go through customer service. With everything being a nightmare we decided to leave it. A week later we were charged over $340 USD on the credit card used for the hold. They were the ones that gave us a FAULTY UNSAFE CAR and confirmed during our calls we were not responsible for ANY payment since it was the company fault. To mention, they even said take a taxi and we will pay, don't worry you will not be charged, everything is fine. They were the ones to provide us with a broken vehicle, took time away from our trip, and created so much stress during our vacation. We did not receive a response. We called, emailed, flagged and and there is no help from their side. No one is taking accountability, no one knows why there is a charge, no one knows why we were left with a bill and no one is helping. All I can say is do not go with Sicily by Car. They are horrible, and looking to scam you from your money. Please save your vacation headache and go with a reputable company. Sicily By Car, I'm sure you are very familiar with me by now, I hope that people see this and know how horrible the Venice location is. I hope you do not do this to someone else, and I hope that you do not ruin someone else's vacation. We will continue to fight to get our money back that you stole from us.

I'm writing this review just to help anyone who may be traveling to Italy. Please stick to the…read moreknown national brands out here. This place is one of those scam type businesses. We arrived in Venice about 2 hours after the time that we initially reserved for pick up. They said they gave our car away and that if we wanted a car it would cost us an additional 30 dollars per day. We prepaid 16 per day. They refused to refund the money as well so because our plane was delayed 2 hours. We ended up jumping on Expedia and renting a car in 10 min from Enterprise they also were out of small cars and upgraded us for free.
