But on a recent friend's visit, he discovered after less than a day that Berlin is a city requiring solid footwear, especially if you're going to be walking all over, as we did. So as we headed home after dinner in Friedrichshain, he saw the store was still open and having a sale, and we made our way in. The shoe selection is actually quite great, with very sporty and cute shoes available. The prices are not too high, and if you go at the right time, you can actually get a good deal. The price was right, so he got some stylish Adidas shoes in his size. Later in the week, while wandering elsewhere in Berlin, we happened upon another Fussgarage, so apparently there are two locations in Berlin. Both have an open and welcoming storefront. Overall, not the most interesting store unless you're in the market for some new shoes, in which case, it's worth checking out.

The shoes were extremely popular and were sold out at all the major retailers. I was lucky to locate the Overkill Shop only a week before Christmas, who had the shoe in stock. They shipped via FedEx and they got here in time. Overkill Shop personnel were very good about promptly answering my email to check on the status of the order (in English, because unfortunately I speak no German). Would definitely recommend this retailer.
