I lived here for almost two years in two different units - a studio, and a one bedroom. I noticed the two previous reviews, and my experience is not even close to what has been described in those. My experience was pleasant both under Mike and Mona's management, and even more so with the two new resident managers, Allison and Daniel.
Allison and Daniel were both extremely professional and always quick to respond to any issues I raised, which were rare and mostly simple maintenance requests. They were absolutely fantastic, and I hope they stay as resident managers for a long time to come.
I will also add that Hollyburn Properties in general was courteous and understanding when I had to move out early (before the termination of my lease), and did not not charge me for the entire duration.
So again, I cannot believe the two other reviews I read. I may have seen a couple of cockroaches in my entire two years I was there, and I am being literal. There was no infestation, and the Management was always well prepared for handling that issue by sending in maintenance folks beforehand during what you might call roach-season. Perhaps these two folks were keeping their apartment clean. Perhaps they have some other axe to grind with the management, or just plain unlucky, I don't know. I faced no such issues.
I loved my experience in Avenue Park. If I move back to Toronto, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is a fantastic diverse neighborhood with everyone and everything around. No concentration of any one single group - that is the way I like it. And do you work downtown? Fantastic - once the pandemic is over, you can take a direct bus to downtown that will take you there in 15-30 minutes depending on traffic and weather conditions. The bus stop is 5-10 minutes away. There are dry cleaners nearby, restaurants, UPS, coffee shops, a museum, grocery shops (including Whole Foods), drugstore/pharmacy, hair salon - all within walking distance.
Sure it is a bit pricey, but which place isn't in the GTA? People I know tried to persuade me to go to Mississauga where the rent was just as high but so far away from work, and all the action. I grew up in a big city and I like living in the city. Avenue Park Apartments is in the city.
Like I said, if I return to Toronto, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. read more
