Ever since my original barbershop passed away several years ago, I've been struggling to find a good barber. See, I don't have good hair. It's like dead straw, just limply hanging off my head like a forgotten Halloween scarecrow's stuffing in March. So on a whim, I tried this place. First, the clinetel is very diverse - old, young, man, woman, child and that was awesome. Second, the staff is super friendly and chill and third, my haircut and shave (all together, $30 which is hella affordable!) was elite top notch quality. I think I find my new barbershop! So yes, take my word for it. You can't go wrong with Avenue Barbershop. FINAL RATING: Five out of Five Little Black Combs Floating in Jars of Blue Liquid read more

Avenue Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Glendale, New York

I've heard great things about Avenue barbershop but experiencing it was much better. My previous barber sold his business and moved, so I was looking for someone reliable with excellent skills. Having a fresh haircut has always helped me feel more confident in every room I enter, and boy, I am not disappointed by what I experienced. I love that they use booksy, which allows me to schedule an appointment without charging an extra fee for holding my time slot. Since we live in a busy world, having a busy barber take me as soon as I arrive is a game changer (NYC problems). The shop is clean and edgy, with a massive logo on a black tiled accent wall. All the staff is friendly and working, which is an excellent sign right off the bat. Roman was my barber, and as promised, he was there with his seat brushed clean and ready for me. We spoke of what type of haircut I was interested in (Medium drop skin fade with a volumized combover), and he made a couple of great suggestions along the way. The man is truly a skilled barber through and through. I came out of that chair with one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. Ladies and gentlemen, I have found my new barber!!! Those who look for a good cut know how big of a deal it is to trust someone of the first cut. Thanks for the incredible fade and for making me feel at home. I'll see you again in two weeks! read more

Worst haircut I ever received. The barber didn't listen to a word I said and there was horrible customer service. Not a good barbershop.

I've been going to this barber for two and a half years, I've always asked Roman's availability. On a professional level he is very good, the environment is clean, but today 18 July 2022 I decided not to go to this barber anymore for the following reason. Usually I have always requested a simple cut, with a clean bear nothing so striking, my beard is not even that thick usually fixed in 5 minutes. I've always paid $45.00 plus $15/ $20 of tip, and I've always been happy to tip it. the reason why I decided not to go to this barbershop anymore is because after making an appointment at 04:00pm I showed up at 04.11 for reason related to the distance, and for only 11 minutes of delay being told that it was time to come back another day it was so disappointed and offended as a customer. I will never gonna go back to this barbershop anymore. Apart from all this, when I walked into the barber, Roman had a client in the chair who you could guess had been there for more than 30 minutes. so I wasn't the one late as he wanted me to believe. read more

ATTENTION MOMS - You will not be disappointed! Based on other reviews, I traveled to this shop from another neighborhood when my son asked for a specific haircut. Unfortunately, in other experiences with Barbershops, they aren't super excited to work on kids or deal with their moms. But not here! Everyone was super friendly and happy to accommodate any requests. They had a full conversation with my son about superheros that really made him feel like one of the guys (he is 7). We have definitely found our new favorite Barbershop read more

I happened upon Avenue Barbershop after a number of less than thrilling haircuts in the Glendale, Ridgewood and Bushwick area. The owner Roman greeted me upon entering and immediately made me feel comfortable. I had a pressing work event to attend and I wanted to look my best. I could not have been happier with the work he performed. He's a consummate professional. The search is over! Avenue Barber Shop is the answer!!! ~AC read more

This barber shop is THE barber shop you want to go to but ONLY if you want THE BEST haircut you'll ever get in your LIFE.. The barber shop itself is a clean and nicely put together place that has a cool, calm and friendly atmosphere... The owner, Roman, then went and filled that atmosphere with good and professional barbers that are on top of their game, barbers who will pay attention to every detail and will have you walking out of the door without a single hair, on your head or face, out of place... As far as the prices, they are beyond reasonable not only for the kind of haircuts and treatment you get but even in comparison to other shops... 5 treatment.. 5 haircut... 5 styling... 5 shop... 5 barbers... read more

I wouldn't go anywhere else for my 9 year old son. I always let Chino cut his hair and they never disappoint!

Gave me a good haircut which is surprisingly hard to find these days. The price was very reasonable as well. I would return for another haircut when I am in the area again. read more

These guys are the best!!!! I'm a single mom and they never take advantage of me or treat me like I don't belong. They are great with my boys and always give them exactly what they want. With a little of mom's requests thrown in. IMO the only Barber shop worth it in this neighborhood. read more

They don't know how give a proper haircut and a shave a week later U have to come right back in for another one

This man to charged me $35 for a haircut & he didn't even use a straight razor on me! I'm not a tourist I know what haircuts cost in NYC. Not only that I looked at the prices on my way out & there wasn't a single thing on there that costs $35. Honestly I think he tried to pull some shit cause they've never seen me before. read more

I got a hair cut with Izzy who ended up scraping my head with a razor blade I didn't notice until I got home and was bleeding he is very rough and his mind is wandering somewhere else never experienced this in my life read more

I was in search of a really good barbershop to take my 3 year old nephew to get his first haircut. I stumbled open Avenue Barbershop. Walking into this barbershop I felt super comfortable and confident in the barbers. The owner Roman greeted me and gave my nephew a lollipop. I asked him for a simple haircut and he exceeded my expectations! My nephew fell in love with Roman he was super friendly & warm. This barbershop by far the best!!! I would recommend this place to EVERYONE!! Definitely coming back!! Thank you ROMAN! read more

Frank did an excellent job on my fiancé. We are going to see my family for thanksgiving and he looks great!

There's 4 or 5 awesome barbers there. I loved my last barber but it was only 1 guy that was good so the wait was long, here I go to whoever's ready and it's just as good or better than my last one read more

First time going, very clean, modern and chill environment. The mainstay barbers Roman and Chino showed skill with their clients. But THIS dude Eli wasn't great, I showed him a picture of reference of what I wanted which was pretty much a pompadour with close fade to sides.Thank God I told him just to shape up my beard (granted he did okay) or I would've been baby faced with the 1970s army flat top he gave me like I was going for active duty. Which is okay if that's what you like, myself no. He chopped my hair, when I tell him its not what I asked for he says, "just wash your hair and it will look better plus my hair line is not the same." Sorry but when I wash my hair I don't usually gain back 3 inches of it and yes my hair line is not the same I hadn't noticed thank you for pointing it out. All in all, top 5 worst first visit cuts at a shop I ever had. If anybody gets him he needs to be constantly supervised since his memory isn't trustworthy, he will finagle with your pompadour request. read more

i have been bringing my son here for over a year. always the best fades and for great prices. i dont even bother waiting for a specific barber i just let whoever has a free chair cut him because regardless they all do an amazing job. prices are great as well so i always make sure to give the guys a nice tip. read more

I've been a loyal customer of my barbers for over 10 years but unfortunately he decided to move to Long Island because he was too scared of real new yorkers (kidding). I happened upon Avenue Barbershop through yelp actually and let me tell you the reviews were on point. These guys know what they are doing, I'd even go so far as to call them artists of hair. From the moment I walked in I got the feeling I was going to like this place. I was greeted and welcomed into the first chair within 5 minutes. The haircut I received was really on point. The man cutting my hair was always checking with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted as well as giving me his recommendations on what he though I should do to make my hair look perfect. The man knew what he was doing and you could tell. I walked out with a fresh cut and a new barber for life. When you go make sure you ask for Roman, he's your go to guy. read more
