My husband had parkinsons', problems with frequent falls and hallucinations. The staff was very good about keeping him safe from falls and understood his hallucinations. He had most of his care on the memory side of Avamere for a little over a year. During that period of time the staff was very friendly, kind, compassionate and helpful to both of us.
Their activities, entertainment and games were a lot of fun and you could see that most of the residents enjoyed them. The facility was clean, the food was good and the residents always had two choices of what they were allowed to eat.
The administrator was very hands on. No matter what time of day I visited she knew exactly what was going on with my husband and what type of a day he was having. She would make suggestions for possible changes in his care and let me be as involved as I wanted to be.
I would definitely recommend Avamere at Sandy to anyone looking for a place for their loved one. read more
