The new owner, Jose is an answered prayer.   From the time you walk into Naples Massage and Neuromuscular + Avalon, you will receive a warm welcome from Debbie or anyone from the front desk.   I've been dealing with multiple issues with my body for several years. I'm from California, and only one person understood my body and knew exactly how to help me when needed. When I moved to Florida, I lost hope that I would not find anyone to help me. I see a great chiropractor almost weekly, but not getting the results that I need. I have seen the previous owner of ART a few times. This one day I booked an appointment, which I thought was with the previous owner, however, Jose was in front waiting for me. He introduced himself and I was confused. I told him I was there for the other therapist, but I was like okay in desperation to get rid of severe neck pain and headaches.   As I walked into the patient room, he asked what I was there for. I said to release the tightness and pain in my neck. His response was, how do you know it's coming from your neck? He got my attention. He did a short assessment and shared something with me on what he noticed. I knew right then that Jose knew what he was talking about. No other person knew my body except for one other person in California. I returned the next day for a full assessment and immediately noticed some differences.   It is no longer about the money and rushing you out, but sincerely helping people. Jose believes in not just treating the symptom, but getting to the root of the issue. He takes his time to explain in detail about the body and what is happening and then teaches me how I can help myself. I struggle with other health issues, and since seeing Jose, he's taught me proper breathing techniques that line up with other things I have going on. I was a dental assistant for 30 years and have developed various issues from my career. I have sought out different techniques, massages, chiropractic, which all have just masked the pain. I was tired of spending thousands of dollars on all these techniques with no long term fix. I consider myself a fit and healthy individual, needless to say I was frustrated. When scheduling yet another massage, I saw they offered osteopathic manual therapy and thought I would try yet another method for relief. My prayers have been answered. Jose is truly in tune with the skeletal system, and how it operates. This, however, does take dedication on my part and I am excited for the path I am heading. I would often worry about my aging process and the pain that I would be in for the next 20 years and now I feel that I have the tools to feel better and move better. I just visited the office and found that no one behind the desk had a mask on, and three patrons in the small lobby were without masks. When I asked why, the gentlemen behind the desk said...Naples has no mask mandate. I replied, last time I checked people were still dying from COVID in Florida, and even if you have your vaccinations, you can still get COVID, and give it to someone else. I can't imagine that any medical professional would be comfortable referring patients to this facility. They all still require that their clients wear masks in their office. You can bet I'll be letting the medical professional that referred me, know what I experienced. What a shame. As far as I'm concerned, it's an unsafe environment and neither I nor my family will be returning. FLOTATION TANK session should be relaxing. Right? Now at this centre it surely was not. I regularly use floatation therapy as it is a great way to completely relax the body. Unfortunately, this first time at this center, it was the exact contrary: The idea behind floatation therapy is that you are in "sensory deprivation", meaning it is dark in the tank and as you float on the high concentration Epson salt water, you barely sense your body. At the end of a session you are usually either "woken up" with a soft light or soft music, so that you can gently transit back into feeling your body. Now in this center, instead of a gentle ending of the session - as the light in the tank was not functioning - I was shocked into my body by the motor of the unit kicking in and heavily circulating the water in which I was floating. I was super lucky that the concentrated salt water did not spill into my eyes. My heart was beating like nuts and my hands were even shaking when I later paid the bill for that "treatment". - And that was only one of the unfortunate experiences there. Another was that the smell inside the tank was off-putting, from time to time loud noise and banging was heard, coming from somewhere outside. - So, if you want to relax, better don't use the floatation offer of this center. read more

My 90 minute massage started 5 minutes late and ended 15 minutes early. Loosing 20 minutes on a 90 minute massage is a waste of money. I paid more than a dollar per minute so having 20 minutes cut off a massage is like highway robbery. When I brought it up to the front desk clerk she argued with me and gave me attitude, which is not a great way to end a massage experience! Incompetent, ignorant and/or dishonest. I was recovering from a sports hernia, a torn adductor at the attachment site to the pubic bone, and was getting pretty impatient, as it had been about 6 months and little improvement had occurred. I had done physical therapy with no success. I called this place asking if the ART (active release technique) was appropriate for my injury and recovery. They said yes so I made an appointment with Tabitha. I brought a print-out of my MRI with me, which was taken just a month earlier and which specified the tear. She claimed with what turned out to be reckless certainty that the tear would have certainly already healed by then and that ART would break up scar tissue and help it heal. So she then performed the very aggressive ART technique on the site of my torn adductor, applying massive amounts of pressure to the site, as I writhed in pain. This all turned out to be disastrous for my injury, making the tear worse and setting the recovery back at least a couple months. (That was October 2016. I left the thing alone and it finally did recover mostly by March 2017, and I'm finally able to play tennis and basketball again, thank God). Anyone who has had a sports hernia knows it is an awful injury that takes forever to heal. Ultimately it was stupid of me to trust her, but I was desperate for some improvement to my injury, as I couldn't play any sports or do any exercise. With all her credentials and the confidence with which she assured me the ART would help, I reluctantly trusted her. Turns out she is either ignorant and incompetent or simply dishonest. In any case, do your homework before you let her work on any injury. Doesn't seem she has your long term best interest in mind and apparently all those credential don't guarantee anything. I wish I had consulted a (real) doctor before going for the ART. read more
