During this meeting, she not only helped us get clear on what kinds of photos we wanted for our wedding, but she also had great advice on the overall flow of what we had planned for the day, and she connected us with her network of great vendors (hair, makeup, flowers, etc.) On the day of the wedding, they were on time, friendly, detail oriented, and professional. In a very efficient amount of time, they captured all the shots we hoped for, and even created some unique photos that we would never have dreamed of. With a short turnaround, they delivered a sneak preview of our photos which we used to create a thank you card for our guests. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with Phototerra's staff, their service and the quality of photos they delivered for us. Our wedding was so special, and we are so grateful that it was so expertly captured by Phototerra.

Marcin shot our photos in 2013. He did a beautiful job with our engagement and wedding photos and…read morewas very prompt and professional. He went above and beyond-- I had gotten a really bad makeover the day of our engagement photos so he did a second shoot for us the next day. (It's those photos from the second day we ended up using.) Then he did an extra shoot for us the day before our wedding-- we had forgotten it'd be cherry blossom season and Marcin got us some incredible shots, as one of my friends described: "every DC bride's dream shots." We were already getting a stellar deal from him, basically just covering his expenses, and definitely didn't expect anything extra. He certainly didn't owe us anything, but he offered it anyway. I wish we had gotten more photos of our guests, but all the photos we do have are beautiful and artistic. (I have a degree in art, so I'm really picky.) Marcin was pleasant and fun to work with. He had great turnaround times and gave us more than we expected! I'm so glad he has recovered and is back in business.

I needed them for work purposes, but had little--ok no--experience in sitting for this kind of photo before. Shayne carefully explained the process, gave me all kinds of options, and totally put me at my ease. We were able to explore a surprisingly wide range of possible looks and backgrounds (inside studio and outside). I was blown away by the results! I would absolutely recommend Shayne's work: it's superb. I loved the way were were able to incorporate a sense of informality even into shots that were suitable for institutional purposes, and I was able to choose a very fun informal shot too. Best of both worlds and an amazing experience. Many thanks, Shayne!

She had a perfect balance between being directive and really styling every shot while making everyone feel comfortable and happy throughout the night. I knew I wanted some really photo shoot styled pictures as well as candids and she captured both. And my husband was not looking forward to our first look shoot but she charmed him and made the whole experience not just painless but fun. In an hour she captured shots of us that could have been right out of a magazine while keeping our event timeline on track. She even captured amazing pictures of guests- in fact they were so good that I went through the trouble of printing and sending personal photos with all of my thank you cards. It was a lovely touch that I wouldn't have thought of doing if it wasn't for her beautiful work. She truly captured the happiness and joy of the day for all of us. Thank you!

I had Pamela shoot my daughters newborn pictures and unfortunately it was a terrible experience…read more.. We waited over 2 months to receive the disk of images when we were initial told it would only take 2 weeks max... After waiting the 2 months and trying several times to contact her with no replies, I finally advised her that if we didn't get the pictures within the week we were requesting a refund... Upon finally receiving the disk we were again very disappointed, more than half of the images she took were missing. Some of which were images that were very important to us and she knew this from our previous discussions/planing we had done. Also, it was easy to see the editing on the prints wasclearly rushed... Body parts were different colours, her face was orange in some pictures and she had milk all over lips. A lot of the images were duplicate pictures just zoomed into her face to make it look like another picture. After addressing my concerns to Pamela and letting her know how upset we were about the situation she didn't take It well. She got very defensive and was accusing me of saying her work was terrible. She advised me that the remainder of the pictures would be mailed to me. After waiting another month I messaged her asking if they had been sent yet and her exact works were "I'm not sending you anything else" then she blocked me so I could not reply... She said I had no right editing her pictures. I'm sorry but I'm not printing/posting a picture of my daughter with an orange face... I had good reasoning to edit her pictures. What's most upsetting about this is I trusted Pamela to capture this once in life time moment of my daughter and we will never get that moment in time back. Bottom line, my experience with her was absolutely terrible and we will never go back nor will I refer anyone to her... She's very unprofessional, lacks communication skills and after viewing what images I did get, her editing skills are very poor as well
