This company took advantage of my senior, widowed father who wished to purchase a monument for my…read moremother, his wife and soulmate of 58+ years. After purchasing a very large monument complete with two urns, he was provided a much smaller one without urns. The owner refuses to reply to my emails asking for a quote for the smaller one so we could determine how much is owed to my father for the difference. Instead, he has told my father that HE is out $$$ because he had to create a new one (after the permit for the original one he created was denied because it was too large!). That error is the owner's, not my father's and is therefor his cost. We have documented proof of the owner lying and in other ways being deceitful to us and to the City of Fort Saskatchewan (where my mother rests). Do not deal with this man nor his company! He was sensitive to my requests, friendly, informative, detailed , and most importantly compassionate and honest. It truly is an experience to go through such planning with a gentleman that makes it easy, affordable, and makes a person so relaxed and comfortable. No mistakes here...I made the right choice, with the right man at the right time. Thank you is hardly enough for what Vince did for me in planning this event, but thank you just the same. You're the best.

Colin Yuha charges for Urns when you don't need one. Found that out when prearranging a cremationread more

Sept 2025 met with Colin Yuha to do a cremantion Prearrangement. Low income senior plan for bare…read morebare bones was $6,000 to be paid by cheque. I was told I would need an urn but apparently that is not true I have found out. That was an extra tab on my account. But, what was so very odd was that during our appointment Colin made reference to Burgar and a past employee (which he named) where paid funds were not being seen by the client's account. Eluded to a fraud. Now that I found awfully strange as I am a complete stranger to this man - what was the point in making things look bad. He said they no longer handle the Government documents yet I see on the website they do. Upon leaving my first appointment with Colin he impressed on me mind to make sure I called him they next day and he would meet with me when I brought my cheque in - I did as asked except...Colin Yuha was a No Show when I brought the cheque. Because this was a Prearrange I was not rushed and had a clear head and in going home and talking things over about Burgar it was decided not to do business with them. I emailed them and went back later and picked up my cheque. Necessary pricing was off and the character of Colin Yuhu left alot to be desired.- the appointment was not a good one. It was decided that his treatment of family at the time of my cremation could be unpredictable. Terrible Funeral Director and Very Bad Reflection on the name Burgar. When funeral homes change owners they should have to run under their own name.
