I had a great experience last night getting my battery replaced. A young man with reddish brades try very hard to remove my battery. After struggling for a while he got the assistance of Quamirer. This place has a clown agent packing a large gun to make customers feel welcome. He's a dork. Stopped by to pick up a simple oil filter and had to wait in a long line just to ask what number my filter was. Why?? They do not have the books in the back where a customer can just DIY, but I have to ask some teenager to look it up, who wasn't even born when I started changing oil. The kid is rude and eats chicken in the back while I wait in another line to pay for it. Customers before food yells the busy manager. He puts his chicken wing down and takes my money. I leave the $5 bucks on the counter and leave. I'm going to pep boys from now on and will only use Autozone to replace my battery and drop off my dirty oil... all over their parking lot for them to clean up. They feel customers are too dumb to read and lookup an oil filter and would like to hard sell you some battery washers or oil drain washers. read more

I wish I could give the employee ROBERT JACKSON a negative review. He lied to me and told me that I would be able to have my 12v motorcycle battery charged within an hour or so. When I went back, none of the employees had ever seen a battery like it and suggested I go to pep boys. The amount of inconvenience I experienced from this incident is going to wind up costing me over $1200 (can't sell my moto w a dead battery) and I am infuriated. There are 100s of people who need jobs, I suggest replacing ROBERT JACKSON immediately w someone who is more knowledgeable and deserving of this job. I will not return ever again nor will the dozens of motorcycle enthusiasts I associate with that I will make aware of this incident. read more

My car battery died and even though I jumped it, the next day it died. I walked in and asked if they had the inventory. She said, 'Let's check your battery before you decide to replace it.' I was like...huh? Shouldn't you be upselling? So I said, 'Sure.' We tested it, she showed me that it wasn't going to hold the charge for long, so I decided to replace it. She came in explained everything I could possibly have questions for (including my interrogation of their warranty) and then brought out the battery and replaced it. It was pretty cold, so another member of their team volunteered to take care of it so she could go back inside. I was done within 15 minutes. Very professional, very cordial. Definitely coming back here based on this experience of service. read more

My request at the Maple Shade Autozone in S. Jersey was completely denied to simply put oil in my Rav-4. Two male employees were standing there doing nothing but staring at me. Desperate, I went to this AutoZone in S. Philly, and the kindest employee ever, (Norwood?) an older man not only put in the oil, but taught me how to do it myself. Fantastic service. Check engine light was on, found the reason in a matter of minutes. It was a bad sensor, asked if they had any in stock, they did not, but told me other competing businesses nearby where I could find them. Told me what a fair price on the part would be from a third party seller, advised what a fair installation price would be as they are not an auto repair shop. Fantastic service - very friendly and efficient staff. I've had to replace several parts in my car over the past year. Last week, I had to jump my car and it surprisingly didn't give me any issues the rest of the week. But when it didn't start this morning I came to terms with having to also get my battery replaced. I called ahead and spoke with Crystal who told me they had my battery in stock and that they could possibly even replace it for me. Pretty happy with my experience. Came over to get some routine maintenance parts for my car. The staff was really helpful, found the parts I was looking for, and was really nice throughout the process. My air filter needed to be ordered, so they sent for that. They also did some modifications to get a better branded oil filter with the oil-filter deal they were running. Will probably be back for more items in the future. read more

I have shopped with Auto Zone many times before but the courtesy and general regard for customers at this branch is awesome. I stopped by because my "Check Engine" light would not turn off. Within a minute of entering the store and explaining my situation, an associate had my car's computer system hooked up to his handheld gadget and told me everything I needed to know. The best part? Just went in at 8:45pm to buy two windshield wiper blades for the rear windows of Honda. First impression that they were very nice, did not rush even though it was almost closing. Very efficient, got out in 5 min. They even offered to put in my battery if needed. This is the kind of customer service that i look for. I wish ALL the Autozones were like this one. Some of them balk at helping to put in light bulbs or batteries....not these guys at this store. I will go the extra miles to find come here again. read more

I went in for a battery because mine kept dying in this cold weather. They felt that a model less than the most expensive would do the job very well so I got that. The people who usually install batteries weren't around so the clerk came up with a delivery person, Dell, who had no problem with the change. Even though he was working on it outside, he was more concerned that I might get cold, even though I wasn't. He recommended that I wait in the car instead of standing outdoors. He made sure the battery was well secured and as he was finishing I was going to give him a tip until he refused it saying the store is more interested in happy customers for repeat business. This location is called a " hub " store meaning they are a warehouse as well as a store. So their selection of parts is much deeper than a conventional store. Now let me mention the quality of what they sell. Their brake pads come from various sources, the white box ones are cheap and wear out quickly, their red box pads are semi metalic but the compound cracks apart, their top line c max is a bosch product but it is the most expensive(more than a bendix-inventor of brakes & wagner per say). The warranty claims lifetime warranty however read the papers closely and it states only defects in manufacturing that are covered. So in effect they admit they sell a inferior & possible defective product. Do you want to risk your life with something like that making sure you stop in time ? Common sense would say no. So in closing while they put some slick commericals on plus sponsor some things, the benefits of dealing with them does not outweigh the risks you assume. Go somewhere else, heck anywhere else. read more

I went to Autozone today to get my battery checked because I didn't want to wait until it died on me at an inopportune time. Batina was terrific. She took the time to check it and also get a second opinion to confirm I needed a new battery. She even made a call to a local mechanic for me to check on the price of something else. She was so pleasant, knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me, more than once since auto mechanics is def not my thing. She replaced my battery and would not even accept a tip. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because the female who checked my battery was knowledgeable and answered every question I had. She said I would be credited for the old battery and that they would be able to replace it for free in the matter of 5 minutes. Overall, it sounded promising. However, she asked another female (she looked like the manager) to see if she could change it or if "Ken" could change it. I'm not sure if their chit chat was meant to be loud but clearly both of them didn't know how to change the battery. She then informed me that this supposed "Ken" person was leaving and he was the only person who knew how to change the battery. After ringing up our new battery, the manager went outside to take a look at the current battery I had (might I add she had an attitude that was very unappealing). I'm not sure why she did that considering she didn't know how to change the battery. After that fiasco, long and behold "Ken" appears and answers another person's question. If the battery change only took 5 minutes, why did this "Ken" guy have time to walk around for 15 minutes and answer other people's questions? Why didn't I get my free battery replacement service as promised? The store closed at 9 and we were there at 5. Had anyone else had the same problem, would they be turned away also? Thank goodness I had someone else help me change the battery. If not, I'd be stuck at this godforsaken place. read more
