The Dallas Woman's Forum Building is a great event space. The building itself is an Historical…read moreLandmark. It is the former home of C.H. Alexander in 1906. It was known throughout Dallas as the Alexander Mansion. The Woman's Forum is an organization committed to empowering women and children through education and advocacy. The group purchased the building and also makes it available to the public for weddings, holiday parties, corporate events, meetings, luncheon, tea parties, bridal showers, dinners, and cocktail parties. I came here for an authors forum. The building proved to be a perfect setting for that event as well. While it is a really neat event space with a decent sized parking lot, it could use a little restoration. Keep in mind it is an old building, and old buildings need a lot of work. For example the front porch has tiles missing, and the interior has walls and corners that need touching up, floors that could use refinishing, etc. Granted, most events will detract from many of those things, but to be good stewards of the rich history these old buildings possess, their owners should make certain they are kept in their original glory...in my humble opinion. Overall, this building is a treasure though and the city is blessed that the Dallas Woman's Forum shares it with the community!

The room was spacious and clean. I appreciated how quiet everything was-I did not hear any noise from the hallway or surrounding rooms. My only complaint would be that there is a lot of construction outside, which isn't very pretty to look at (I never did hear any of it, which I'm grateful for.) I'd love to return when all the construction is done to enjoy better views.

When a loud recording started playing stating that we were trespassing and police was on the way. We look ad each-other with a sense of confusion and disbelieve. Keep in mind this happened at 3:00pm there are people walking around and lots of tourists. This type of actions are intimidating and completely unnecessary. West end is a public area and these type of noise pollution and intimidation should not be allowed, I already filed a complaint with the city of Dallas. I

It' was…read moredesigned by Philip Johnson- truly one of the behemoths of modern architecture, and the real deal when it comes to evoking a sense of timelessness. Set in the middle of downtown Dallas, Thanks-Giving Square is a place that feels very calming despite being in the middle of a busy business district. There are fountains, some works of art like "The Golden Rule" by Norman Rockwell and a glorious non-denominational chapel where you can sit in silent contemplation and admire the beauty. Inside the chapel is an incredible spiral ceiling that is mesmerizing. The whole site is wonderful, and I highly recommend spending some time looking at the site from different perspectives and admiring the architecture from varied angles to get a true appreciation of the brilliance of this design. Thanks-Giving Square is truly a gift to the city of Dallas, and one of my fave places to be. So glad this is in my city. You never really hear much about this place, but I think it's a true gem.
