Rodney here is the BEST!…read more After some issues with my car in May '13, I had the battery replaced at a little mom-n-pop auto place in Haslet, TX. Fast forward to Feb '14, when I again started having battery issues, to the point where anytime I wanted to drive my car, I had to jump start it. As the battery wasn't even a year old, it fell under warranty replacement. Now, being as the battery was purchased in TX and I'm now in CO, I expected a giant headache getting it replaced under warranty. I found that Auto Zone sells the battery I had, so I gave them a ring early this morning. Rodney answered and was way more helpful then I ever expected. He took my info and the info of the place I bought the battery, called them up and the AZ they bought it from. He then called me back and let me know that pretty much the battery they had sold me wasn't really suitable for my car. He told me to bring it in and he'd get it taken care of. After getting my car jumped, I ventured over to this Auto Zone. Rodney greeted me and shook my hand (not very common in my previous auto place experiences). He tested the current battery, told me the differences in the one I had vs. the one I should've had (I didn't know batteries had vents on them!), swapped them out and sent me on my way. He was very quick about it, kept me informed, and was super nice. I will be sure to go here again for when I need to change my oil or purchase anything automotive in the future. Cannot say enough nice things about how great my experience was here.

The guy behind the counter asked about the application (a regular car without a lot of accessories). He stated the yellow top would not work because it required heavy discharge and in his 20 years of experience the battery would go dead quickly in a regular car. so he said the red top optima was the battery needed and he didn't stock them. Being a licensed engineer with 35+ years of experience, and 50+ years of experiencing wrenching on cars, his explanation didn't made sense to me. So i bought a battery someplace else.
