Warning - Proceed with extreme caution when dealing with Auto World Sydney.
A refundable deposit of $2,000 was taken by Auto World Sydney against a Range Rover Sport (RRS) with a view to purchase, subject to vehicle inspection and identity verification (the vehicle was advertised under Private Seller as a 2014 RRS SDV6 model with sale price of $114,500). Having paid $1,500 for flights to Sydney to inspect the vehicle it became apparent that the vehicle model could not be established with absolute certainty. Conflicting independent vehicle verification reports and previous owner (dealer) communication indicates the vehicle was a TDV6 model and not an SDV6 model as advertised. No vehicle information was entered in the vehicle warranty booklet and the vehicle badge could not be used to identify the vehicle model because the seller had changed it to an Autobiography badge even though the vehicle was not an Autobiography, "it looked like one" admitted the seller.
In summary this vehicle was not as advertised, if it was we would not have spent $1,500 for flights to view it and we would not have paid a deposit, despite the seller's promise to refund. The seller has on more than one occasion promised to refund the $2,000 but to date has not done so. The seller now refuses to take calls to discuss the matter, the office promises to call back and never does, and e-mails sent to the business have not been answered. So frustrating and disappointing and hence the reason I have written this review to warn others.
The office of NSW Fair Trading have now been informed as no communication has been forthcoming from the seller or the company and it appears that this is not the first time NSW Fair Trading have been contacted regarding the business dealings of Auto World Sydney. read more
