DIY Auto Parts- Broadmeadows
(1 review)
DIY Auto Parts is a car junkyard in Broadmeadows…read more Admission Fee is $2 (as with Pick-A-Part). You bring your own tools to take parts off cars. Parts prices here are similar to Pick-A-Part (depending on what you're getting). Others are slightly cheaper or more expensive. The car selection is good here for imported cars, and Aussie Fords as well. They also group them into sections in a more organised fashion than Pick-A-Part. They're organised into: Holden, Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Honda and Hyundai/Kia/Ssangyong. Then, at the back corner, there is just: European and 4WDs as well. They also have a 'desirable' section just to the left of the entrance, for cars that they think are likely to be popular. Staff are mostly good in my experience but again YMMV. Their website sucks though, they do not have a stock database anymore, so you need to keep track on their Facebook page, which can get difficult. Parking is pretty good, Public Transport access is okay, compared to both Pick-A-Parts. The 901 SmartBus runs right outside. If only Campbellfield Station on the Upfield Line would reopen, that would make it perfect. I would happily come back here if I knew the part I needed was likely to be there.

Do Not Buy a Car Bra! They are dangerous!!! PS: I did not trip of around 10,000km and no stone chips. So I did not need it anyway.

The CarBra has scuffed my headlamps, removing the UV coating. Quoted $950 to replace them. I think it sucked up grit then trapped it on the headlamp, slowly sanding the surface away. I fitted the CarBra as directed by the instructions and am now left to prove this or write off the damage. Custom fit for a 2008 Ford Falcon G6E. This was suppose to protect my car, while I didn't get any stone chips this was not what I expected.

Instead, when i went to get it installed, my mechanic told me it was the wrong car part. Upon returning to this business, i was finally told that the part was in actual fact 2nd hand and made for a car driving in Taiwan, not Australia! What in the world will i need with a car part made for a Taiwan car??? Never using them again as it proves they are not legit.
