As soon as we left the shop and were driving home, the rear wheel on our camper nearly came off because the lug nuts had not been tightened. I called immediately, and they sent their mobile service truck to tighten them. While the camper was there, we were quoted $50 for valve stem extenders. Instead, they installed braided extenders, drilled holes through our hubcaps to mount them, and charged us $100 for the extenders plus an additional $200 in labor. At no point were we told they planned to drill into our hubcaps or that the final cost would be significantly higher than the original quote. During our vacation in South Dakota, one of the extenders they installed began leaking, leaving us with a flat tire. My husband had to buy an air compressor, remove the leaking extender, and inflate the tire himself so we could continue our trip. On our way home, one of the hubcaps flew off. Because the valve stem extender had been attached through the hubcap, it ripped the valve stem out of the tire, causing another flat tire on the highway. When we returned home, my husband called to speak with the owner in hopes of resolving the situation. Instead of discussing the issues, he was met with excuses and denied responsibility. The owner even claimed he had personally waited on my husband at the counter, which simply wasn't true. He also stated that because we had driven about 800 miles before the second problem occurred, it couldn't have been their fault. Which obviously the extender was slowly leaking the whole way and didn't leak down until we reach SD. To make matters worse, when my husband later went to the shop to discuss everything in person, the owner refused to speak with him. They wanted to charge my husband labor to fix the flat tire that was caused by them. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how a business responds when those mistakes happen. Unfortunately, our experience was that there was no accountability and no willingness to stand behind the work. Then blamed it on a nail hole and wanted him to buy another tire. $379.00 . They told him tires have no warranty. This was our experience, and I wanted to share it so others can make an informed decision before choosing where to have work done on their vehicles or campers.
