Paid the aa around £600 to get the car picked up after an accident and it was this company that came to pick us up, was told if the car was dropped off at our house it was going to be an extra £200-300 due to equipment used, the guy doing the recovery told us it would be the best option to take it back to his yard, instead of paying this extra charge to get it dropped off at the house. Insurance company believe that the car has been dropped off at the house as it states on their end that's what's happened. Insurance company was going to collect the car from this yard to take back to Edinburgh but this company, auto rescue won't release the car without a payment of over £2000 which is said to include the pickup (despite the £600 already been paid for the pick up), storage, 2 additional workers (despite there only being one worker who picked us up), and road management (despite the road never being shut and no one was guiding traffic, the only thing that was put on the road was police cones, which makes no sense if this garage is trying to charge for a couple small cones around the car that was put down by the police and the road was not shut). £2000 storage fees we were never told about, the guy doing the pick up said it would be an extra 300 for the car to be dropped off at the house and the better option would be to take it back to this yard, surely the better option would be the extra 300 to have it at the house (where the insurance company was told the car was dropped off at) and not the extra two grand that was never communicated to us to begin with and the car won't be let go to the insurance company without the 2 grand being paid and the insurance won't cover it. Scam of a company. The 600 for the pick up already put us out of pocket (which the insurance won't cover either) never mind the 2 grand for storage fees and fees for things that never happened. Plus no communication is leading to the car to further sit in this yard in Airdrie running up a bill that we can't pay. read more
