SJ Health - Pediatrics Exam Room

SJ Health

(3 reviews)

Took my daughter in for a rash while her regular pediatrician was out, and the experience was…read morereally concerning. Dr. Williams had no visible name tag, was dressed in dirty clothing, had long, dirty fingernails, and did not wear gloves/or wash his hands during the exam. As a parent, hygiene and professionalism are non-negotiable--especially in a medical setting. I did not feel comfortable with the level of care provided. I hope the clinic addresses this because patients deserve a clean and safe environment.

This place lacks in every way, sucks to say. I've been to this location 4 different times over the…read morecourse of 3 months. Before these 3 visits here, I had took my daughter into the SJ Health Clinics in French Camp next to the hospital.. that place was no better, but this review is for this location specifically! First off, plenty of parking, easy access to the building, Pediatrics is on the first floor, when you walk in to the left. They have a security at the front probably the only person who smiled at us. The front desk patient service representatives have no customer service. No welcome in, good morning, no smile. Will make you stand there for a few before having you come to the window. They won't even say "I'll be with you in a second". The MA's I've dealt with are the same. They seem just miserable. No smile with the kids to make em comfortable. At least that was my daughter's & I's experience. No small talk. I'm an MA so I know patient flow is important, but what about patient satisfaction as well? Anyways, I brought my daughter in 4 different times from March-May before giving up on them & switching my daughter's insurance over to Kaiser where they actually give quality of care to their patients. Because the skin issue my daughter was dealing with went undiagnosed for so long! Even I knew or at least had an idea of what it was, but because the doctor said they "didn't think that's what it was" It was left untreated and worsened!! So the first initial visit, they said what they said about it not looking like my suspicion and just prescribed her topical medication for something else! When she didn't have that! They don't have to "think" what it is that my daughter has, they should've immediately referred her to the dermatologist. So we used the topical cream and of course no difference after 2-3 weeks. Second visit, I said made no difference, looks worse, symptoms are worsening. They then sent a referral, which was told to me was a dermatologist, and that they'd reach out to me that's usually how they work. Nearly another 3 weeks, I brought her in as a walk in because my goodness to get ahold of someone at the clinic to get a message over to the doctor was nearly impossible!! No call center could help me. One day a lady would say "I can't get in contact with clinic, that's beyond what I can do" the other would say "I'll send them an urgent message" another would just transfer me to another person. Until finally someone who knows what they're doing at the call center, got in touch with the clinic and the doctor. Still made no difference because when I seen the doctor they still didn't know what was wrong and referred my baby to an Allergist not a dermatologist!! Wasted my time thinking it was a dermatologist, when I arrived to find out it was an Allergist clinic and my goodness those people too are fucking crazy if they think ima let them prick my daughters back 88 times! Yes you heard that correct. 88 times on her back, to see if maybe she was having an allergic reaction to a food. NO HUNNY. My kid isn't allergic to anything! This I know for a fact. So then a week after that I went back to SJ Clinic, however I wasn't able to go, so I had my mom take my daughter and she was able to get the doctors personal number so I wouldn't stress over trying to get in contact. Not that that doctor was any help. Finally my daughter was able to see a DERMATOLOGIST which confirmed literally less than 1 minute upon walking into the exam room she seen my baby's skin and immediately let me know what it was! (Direct Derm in Manteca, Dr Sharma, She is amazing!) Got the problem resolved and now my daughter is back under Kaisers care where they actually care about patients and preventative care! AVOID SJ HEALTH CLINICS AT ALL COSTS. If you love your kids, you'd try any and every which way to get them better insurance or hopefully your experience isn't the dreadful as the ones I've experienced over the last few months.
