DO NOT GO HERE! This place is a joke, doesn't call back, never answers, doors always locked, filed taxes 2/2024 and still hasn't even been approved via IRS. Better off sending your taxes via messenger pigeon. read more

I really really try to keep in mind everyone has a bad day. But the list just was way too long to over see things. I understand tax time being super busy. But to wait months for your taxes to be done was a bit extreme. 2. Unfinished taxes to get done and having to remind to get done is a bit extreme. Then to come to find out the city tax was not done right and had to be Redding. I tried to call her to communicate but she said it's ok to not call the number on the letter. We did and we was told the city tax paperwork had to be redone so the city redid it. 3. She set up a company thing for me but never gave me the information or I'd number. I asked her twice about it. About a month later I got a bit fed up. I texted and asked about it and she said she would get it later. I tried to call the office to make an appointment with her texting me stating didn't I tell you we talk later. Wow I wrote back. I was just trying to get an appointment to be able to communicate and chat better. She stated she did not sleep well and needs to wake up first. So I tried to give her the information which ended up being such a miss communication. Another excuse about her being in the hospital her being sick I totally understand that, but enough was enough. I finally stated this communication is horrible. Please give me the information I needed, and we will be done. Finally finally got the information. Will never go back. Be aware read more

Baker Donna & Associates CPA

I wasn't happy with the CPA we had been using, because they messed up our return…read more I looked at Yelp reviews and decided to try Donna Baker's team. Everything went great, and they filed my return electronically promptly. I subsequently received a document from a financial institution (waaay past the legal requirement to provide them) that showed additional tax liability. I took that to them and they filed an amendment to sort everything out. As a bonus they cost less than our previous CPA who had failed to properly submit our return.

This firm has handled my taxes the last couple of years and done an excellent job. They are great!read more

I highly DON'T recommend using this business for your taxes. This was my first time using them for…read moremy taxes and when I went to sign and pay for them to be electronically submitted they had me double check my bank account and routing number on the paperwork before I signed and paid them $200. I did so and realize that both my routing number and bank account number were incorrect from the ones that I had given them in the beginning. They were corrected and written down on the paperwork to be corrected so that I would still receive my direct deposit for both my stimulus and my tax return. Even though I personally corrected them myself before signing and paying for their services they still entered the incorrect bank account and routing number to the IRS so I did not receive my tax return or stimulus. I now will have to wait weeks in order to receive both of them through the mail. When I called in order to get more information from them they told me I would just have to wait. I was upset with their services and asked if they could somehow get in contact with the IRS to get my bank information changed because I can't seem to get through to the IRS and have been trying for over a week because they did it incorrectly and was pretty much told to deal with it. My husband also used them and they completely messed up his name and Social Security number before filing. Luckily that was corrected. But now I'm stuck waiting because of a mistake that was supposed to be corrected on their part. I will never use this company again and I will be sure to tell everyone that I know in the area to also not use this company. I called them twice and only heard back one time and then I waited two days and finally called them back and that was when I was told I would have to wait and suck it up even though now the IRS has the wrong bank account information so any stimulus check that is given out I will have to wait for because I can't get through to the IRS either. All because of a simple mistake that was supposed to have been corrected before filing.

The owner of this company Eva is a liar and a thief, she was supposed to do a worker's comp audit for me told me four months that she was working on it only to find out she never made one call, when I ask for proof she all the sudden had a death in the family or was very sick or just would not respond to me at all, I authorized her to do an electronic check for $1,000 to do my taxes and take care of my audit which she has yet to do, and she turned around and made the check out for $1,300 to herself. Now she has went MIA and will not respond or send me any of my tax documents so that I can get the audit cleared myself, I've had to contact an attorney and I've had to reach out to the Internal Revenue Service directly to report her. My recommendation is if you have used her you need to follow up and make sure your taxes were done correctly, this woman is a fraud. She is now being investigated. read more

My co-worker and I signed up for this as an offsite training for us to get a little more knowledge about HR laws and how to have HR conversations. We received an email from Steve, our trainer, the week before the training saying we were the only ones to sign up (which I now think is crazy knowing how great he is) and offering to come to our office as well as volunteering to center his training on topics that we wanted to know more about. Steve came to our office with cookies and fruit, as well as a very personable and approachable demeanor. He answered our questions and listened to our personal and "what if" situations to help us learn the "right" way to handle them. I believe we will be reaching out to Steve again in the future. And I would highly recommend HR Bones training for anyone that needs an HR brush up, or needs to gain more specialized knowledge in a certain area!

While it's true I did not know I was required to pay a City Tax, it's reasonable that a professional tax preparer would know and make the client aware. When I notified John of the letter from the city and asking for help to resolve this I was ghosted. He stated he would get back in touch the following week and never did. I did try to reach him by phone but no response. Obviously I'm moving my business elsewhere as this has cost me in penalty, late fees, and the cost of having 4 years of returns amended with the City. My point is be sure you know what you need done and don't expect any assistance from Benzing because you will be left high and dry to deal with any issues that come up by yourself. I cannot recommend this firm.
