This is the worst drone service I have ever interacted with…read more Omid is the most immature person I have ever spoken to. I searched for drone services in Austin and Mavrik Pictures shows up. I give the number on the website a call and Omid who sounded like he woke up from a nap picks up. I ask him about his drone services and he asks when I would like to shoot. We schedule it a few days ahead. He says there will be a $200 deposit and he would send me the invoice in a day or two. Two days later, he sends the invoice which I gladly paid first thing in the morning the day before the shoot. My flight from a speaking engagement got delayed by a day and I was at the airport trying to get to Austin as soon as I could to make this shoot. I texted him 3am in the morning. I finally get in town and tried to call him again around 7am then tried at 8am. He picks up, and says he just saw my text. I told him I could power through it but I was exhausted and would like to reschedule. He explodes over the phone, calling me selfish several times, and yelling and interrupting me, telling me he had to drive his team from Dallas (just a reminder that his business and location of business shows Austin), and how he's made "such a big sacrifice" by not asking for 50% of the deposit and using good drones. I got really frustrated and told him that's not how anyone speaks to me, and if we want to reschedule and work together, then we have to speak with each other with respect. He was constantly interrupting me because he knew he misinterpreted the situation and he was in the wrong for not communicating that his team is actually based in DALLAS. Then threatened me to pay the entire fee even if I cancel (even though I didn't ask for cancellation but a reschedule) saying "My team will go to the location and you better be there and if you don't show up I'll see!" Word of advise don't use this service.

I loved the fact that the photos were artsy/colorful and not just the typical portraits. But what really sealed the deal was when we talked to Josh over Skype. He stated he doesn't charge by the hour for weddings because then he would be too focused on time, and also because it's a (hopefully) once in a lifetime experience that shouldn't be limited by time. He definitely followed through - we had an almost 10hr engagement session followed by another the next day!! How many photographers can you say would be ok with that? He really uses his surroundings to strengthen the photo as well. Andrew is his partner that did our 2nd day of engagement session and he was just as passionate, and just as friendly. They clearly know how to properly record everything (including hidden mics for ceremony, even the musicians!) and - IMO, even more importantly - understand the importance of handling the footage and recording well over the necessary amount in case you want even more video later on. On the day of they were great at staying low-key and still efficient at grabbing people quickly for important shots post-ceremony, etc. Very reasonable pricing, and they're willing to accept full payment after the wedding in case of last-minute budget crunches (they film everything day of but won't send you video until after payment (duh)). 2nd Generation Video was one of the *very* few things that I actually feel like was worth the final price and that's saying a lot when it comes to weddings.
