5th floor room

Good location but the room was less than expected. They had just changed the air filter before my arrival and it was laying out near the bathroom. The room smelled like moth balls during my entire stay. One of the 2 elevators was down for renovation so this caused a bottleneck in the morning and in evening. Since it stopped on every floor, it took an extra 15 minutes to get to the lobby.

Austin Marriot was a pretty decent. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights total. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: - If you have status they have a lounge on the top (8th) floor. The lounge has drinks and snacks provided. I enjoyed it the couple times I went up there. - My room was large. There was plenty of space. - The restroom was pretty standard. - The free parking was nice because they have a lot on every side to park. And you can use your key to get in on all the sides. Access was easy. - Great gym. The equipments were all new and towels and waters were provided. - They had a great indoor pool. - Bed was large and fine. The pillows were okay too. I was pretty comfortable. - I got complementary cards for their breakfast at their restaurant downstairs. I didn't use it though. - It was pretty clean and well maintained Cons: - The restroom didn't have a bathtub, only shower. And the water pressure was awful and leaked at night. - The elevator made very loud noises and gave me anxiety - No upgrade for platinum elite (no offers) - About 20 minutes from downtown and no food places nearby really Overall it was fine and its a good option if you do not need to be downtown. I'm okay not visiting Austin again but if I ever do come back I would consider the Austin Marriott again.

Stop the parking fees. 1. Hotels shouldn't charge for parking -- it's a basic amenity, not a luxury. Guests already pay enough, and hidden parking fees just feel greedy. 2. Parking should be included in the room rate. Surprise fees at check-in ruin trust and drive guests to stay elsewhere. 3. Charging guests to park their own car is unfair, especially when there's no other option nearby. It's not service -- it's a surcharge. 4. Paid parking at hotels feels like nickel-and-diming loyal guests. Honest pricing builds repeat business; hidden fees don't. 5. Travelers remember unfair charges. Free parking is simple, fair, and easy!

Almost Perfect! For a 20 year old property, this was definitely well maintained. Checking in/out was incredibly fast and easy. The ambiance was simple, in a good way...typical convention style hotel. The room had everything that I needed. The parking lot was easily accessible. My only complaint was that the shower-head had a drip. It was impossible for me to fall asleep. Luckily, I was able to put a towel under the drip. Of course, the housekeepers had to retrieve a soaked towel.

Beautiful hotel in Round Rock TX, which is outside of Austin. I was here to play in 8 poker tourneys at The Lodge. I did play in those tourneys, but it wasn't a great trip for one main reason. I think I was drugged. This is not a joke. And this happened somewhere else--not at the hotel. For 35 hours straight, I suffered horrific hallucinations (when awake) and horrific nightmares (when sleeping) related to my biggest fears (past, present, future). I fell asleep while tying my shoes, shampooing my hair (standing up), and brushing my teeth. I also got sick and couldn't walk. But... With one hour left for late registration for a tourney that I promised I would be at, I had trained myself to walk again. I told myself I had 25 minutes to make it happen. When I started, my toes were pointed toward each other and my hands were shaking in front of my chest. I could only move about an inch at a time. I walked back and forth in the hotel room for 15 minutes and thought I had it, but I fell to the floor. I made it up and out on second attempt but knew I couldn't go through the lobby because they would call 911 if they saw the was I was moving. So I used the walls for balance and went out the side door. I texted someone from poker room that I could use a ride but they didn't take me seriously. It was only a 4-minute drive and I had done it many times, but I was so out of it that I needed to use my GPS. I arrive safely but I could barely stand, my eyes were bloodshot, and I fell asleep at the table more than 40 times throughout the day. I finished four from the money in this condition, but I don't remember anything that happened. If I had been in good condition, I probably would have cashed, and maybe even shipped it. But who knows. As far as the hotel goes, highly recommended! The entire property is nice, the staff is friendly, and it's a great location.

I stayed in the suite on the first floor. This was an extremely clean room. There is a couch pullout bed in the living area and an extremely responsive thermostat that heats and cools the room instantly. The shower was gigantic and had a bench off to the right and multiple heads with varying water pressures. The televisions had great volume control and I appreciated that since most TVs either have whisper soft or shrieking decibels when the volume is adjusted by even just one level. There were only a few (minor) issues: No pens nor writing pads in the room? I needed a pen to address a card and couldn't find a single one anywhere despite there being a desk with a drawer. The door that separates the living area and bedroom has tinted glass but becomes see-through at night depending on which lights are on. The shower leaks water onto the floor so I had to use multiple towels to sop it up. Thankfully, housekeeping promptly provided extra towels. My biggest issue was the door that separates the full bathroom from the bedroom: It has a lovely frosted glass sliding door which looks sleek and modern. However, when trying to sleep, the door does not block any sounds and allows light to hit your face, which made it difficult for me to sleep since the bed is directly near the bathroom door. There is an air freshener pod plugged into the hallway outlet, across from the suite door, which made for an overpowering artificial odor every time I walked up to the door.

This is the ice machine on the first floor. The hopper doesn't work so it shoots out on your feet if you are not quick enough.
Catch I.

Staff was friendly here but there were definite issues with the hotel. There are almost zero covid protocols in place so if you have been feeling left out and want to catch it go here. Other than the restaurant staff and one person at the counter no one wears masks so none of the guests do either. They pack into the elevator with their maskless faces and breath in your face instead of having an ounce of consideration and waiting for the next car. If you are an elite member the lounge is closed on the weekend. I reserved for 3 guests and got a room with one king bed and no sofa. The fruit salad with breakfast was cut on a board with onions so it tasted like onions.

Our stay was great especially thanks to front desk associate Marsha! She checked us in and went out of her way to make sure our first stay here was amazing! She was super friendly, very professional, compassionate, and very helpful! I'd return in large because Marsha represents Marriott so well! The other associates and all of the staff we interacted with were great! The lobby is very nice a decorated nicely for Christmas! The elevators work well and we're clean as was the hallways, gym, pool area and overall hotel. The restaurant was clean however the breakfast could use more variety and less hard cooked bacon. Unfortunately, one of the workers coughed directly into the muffins as he was putting up the food. He didn't cover his mouth at all. He also touched his mouth with his gloves on as he was replacing food on the bar. Please remind your staff that it is imperative to be extra clean and to be aware that patrons see more than they know. I was told that I couldn't get an omelet because staff was low. The only day that I did get an omelet, it was amazing! The room that we were upgraded to was very nice!! We loved everything about it although the tiles flushes too loud and it's a little hard to push the handle. The shower and sink water pressure is great however the hot is very hot and could burn someone. It would be nice to have a vent in the bathroom to avoid the walls getting so wet and the mugginess. This corner room is amazing! Thanks for taking such good care of us! We didn't remove our door hanger sign to get our room cleaned, but, the housekeepers were very nice and helpful when I asked to replace towels, etc. The room was nicely decorated! Towels were plush and white. The TV wall unit is very nice and the refrigerator worked well! Again, Marsha H. was one of the best parts of our stay! We appreciate all the kindness! Parking was ample and the location is convenient from the highway. There are stores and restaurants with 5 minutes drive. We'd definitely return! Oh, only reason I didn't rate it a five is because I reserve those for the Ritz...

The bed was slightly uncomfortable because I could feel the springs but I was still able to sleep fine. We used the pool twice and it wasn't crowded at all. It had a few lounge chairs and several regular chairs. The staff made sure to keep the towels stocked when they knew we were headed to the pool. There was also a gym but we didn't check it out. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety including a fountain drink machine. I liked making the Texas shaped waffles. My only rec would be more fruit options. Check out was simple by putting the key card at the front desk. I would definitely consider coming back for another stay.

Loved the layout of our room, it was very comfortable and having a mini fridge is always a plus. However, after a long day out, coming back to our hotel room for rest for peace and relaxation did not happen. Although our room was 4 floors up, it was located above the hotel bar/ restaurant. We could hear the music for hours! In addition, the walls were paper thin, our neighbors and their dog were loud- we could hear conversations, footsteps, etc. Definitely not a peaceful hotel! Embassy is known for their happy hour and made to order breakfasts. We received two complimentary drink tickets per person. Drinks were strong, and the snacks consisted of goldfish, pretzels, carrot sticks with ranch, chips, and fresh popped popcorn. While I was sipping on my drink, I observed a gloved female employee, in charge of popcorn, use those same gloved hands and eat the popcorn!!! After placing a couple of bagged popcorn on the counter for guests, she walked around eating it on the job with those same gloves and proceeded to head to the snack area and do the same! Unprofessional and disgusting. Made to order breakfast was ok. I did appreciate the omelette station. Checkout was easy. I had to call corporate who was much helpful, but in the end, we decided to book with Hyatt - and they were actually cheaper. Then, when I went downstairs to tell them we'll take the refund, I told her (and maybe the manager that was standing next to her) that I left the dog hairs I found on the night stand and that the chair they have was sticky and filthy. The hotel only cleans every other day to cut costs, so you must request a cleaning if you want more often than that. That is exactly what we did. Unfortunately, this is what we saw when we got back to the hotel, see pic below, when we requested a cleaning. The excuse from the receptionist was the hotel was full so they did not have enough housekeepers to clean our room. Then the manager called the next day after we had to send two texts about what happened. He said it happened because the housekeeper saw a do not disturb sign on the door. Either way it is unacceptable, and the fact that they have conflicting stories about the incident is not good. Certainly, if the housekeeper should have come back to clean the room, knowing we specifically requested a cleaning. Other than that the breakfast was lousy--even by complimentary breakfast standards. The omelette tasted rubbery, the oatmeal was soggy and there were very few selctions. It was so bad that very few people were seen at breakfast the whole stay. Finally, the pool was unusable the whole time we were there. Apparently the pool heater broke which would have cost $5000 to fix, so despite the weather being nice, the pool was closed because a multimillion dollar company did not want to spend five thousand to fix a heater and settle the cost with the warranty company later. Despite the problems we had, the manager who checked us out, did not offer us a penny off the bill, very poor service and we would not recommend anyone to stay here.

I am a licensed attorney and a professional and I never even raised my voice. Who the heck calls the POLICE on a guest for making a customer service complaint? I wasn't even onsite anymore at the time. I was talking to Sonya on the phone after SHE CALLED ME. Once she made the threat, I then called the Round Rock PD myself to find out if she actually did file a complaint on me. I am waiting to hear back. Below, I've detailed more information about what happened. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I travel WEEKLY for business and I have NEVER been treated as horribly as I was treated by SONYA and because of her, I will NEVER stay at a Hilton property ever again. This hotel does not honor its service guarantee. When I checked in, I had already registered and PREPAID on my American Express card. Despite that, I was still made to fill out an archaic PAPER registration form because they said the "owner" thinks people will lie and say they never stayed at the hotel. Then, the elevator was FILTHY. The major issue, though, is the service. I was NEVER informed that they do housekeeping every other day. I also requested IN WRITING that I receive extra towels. Despite my request, when I returned to my room after a long work day, my room had NOT been cleaned and I had NOT received towel service. I had to clean my own room, handle my own dirty towels and trash, and was offered a measly 1500 points, then 2000 which I expressed was NOT SATISFACTORY. I was not offered a CLEAN ROOM. I was NOT OFFERED A REFUND FOR THE NIGHT'S STAY AS LISTED ON THE GUARANTEE, AND I was not offered POINTS to cover a night. Instead, I was treated like CRAP. Sonya, the "manager," brushed me off in my face, then faked like she was going to "look into the matter," and called me about an hour later after I had checked out, and said they weren't going to do anything to assist. When I asked had she talked to the person who checked me in, she then HUNG UP IN MY FACE. After Sonya hung up on me, I called the hotel back and asked for another manager or the owner's contact information. Alyssa, the front desk agent, said that I was "creating a problem" and to "please stop calling." Mind you, this was my FIRST AND ONLY call besides when Sonya called me then hung up in my face. I asked how I was creating a problem by asking for service as a hotel guest? Alyssa then said the only person I could talk to was Sonya. I said, great. Please transfer me to Sonya again. I was transferred to Sonya who THREATENED ME and said said she was going to report me to ROUND ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR HARASSMENT. This is insane. I'm a licensed attorney and I did nothing illegal by asking for customer service at a HOTEL. Mind you, I am a professional woman and I was kind and did not raise my voice or treat them poorly at all. But, they were not only rude, they also threatened me with the POLICE. If you are BLACK OR A PERSON OF COLOR, do NOT stay at this hotel or at any HILTON chain. Even if you are not black, I suggest you look elsewhere. I plan to look into filing an action for discrimination. I will also be contacting Hilton's corporate office. They do not honor their guarantees or assist black customers. In addition to contacting corporate, I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Texas for them not honoring the advertised guarantee and then threatening me with the police. This was the WORST hotel experience I've had in my life. Stay FAR AWAY FROM Hilton and if you must stay at a Hilton chain, I suggest you choose any other location except for this one!!!!!
