Doug and his team were amazing! We were looking for a caterer to support us with a small cozy Meet & Greet event on a Sunday morning and we are glad to have found Austin Gourmet! First, they were so easy to work with, all we need to do was to give a brief of the event and they do the rest! We were delighted that we did not need to use up the entire budget set aside for the type of nibbles & drinks we were looking at (unlike other caterers we were comparing with). Short of saying that Austin Gourmet helped us channelled some budget to other areas of our event! Food wise, like the rest of the reviews mentioned, was delicious! We had a spread of delectable selection of pastries & sweets, sandwiches, wraps and cookies. Not forgetting the hot & cold beverages. The food is truly mouth watering. It is utmost joy as hosts to see our guests happily chomping down the food. As for the set up & pick up, their staff were more than punctual. In fact they were there waiting for us to arrive! Everything was set up carefully and nothing was amiss. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The event was a success and the food played a huge role. We couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you guys! PS: one suggestion, print your company name on the napkins that were provided. Almost everyone wanted to know who our caterer was! read more

Not impressed with the service that Austin Gourmet provides. We use them for business lunches and although their prices are reasonable and the food is decent, the service is horrible. Delivery drivers show up late, there has been missing items and even items with another company name written on them being delivered to us. They are also not consistent with picking up the dirty catering dishes and trays the same afternoon or the next day. I almost always have to call them 2, 3 and even 4 times to request that the dirty catering trays be picked up. I have found another catering company in the Tri-Cities which provides much better service and we will not be using Austin Gourmet again. read more

I am super impressed with the quality of service they provide along with such great food. We've used them several times for our office luncheons and they do everything from setting the table for us to ensuring everything is picked up at a timely manner. Each time they've come their food has been fresh and hot literally right from the oven. I highly recommend using Austin Gourmet as you will not be disappointed by their level of quality and service they provide. The food will be a hit with everyone in your office! Austin Gourmet has to be one of the best finds of 2014 for us. They were recommended by friends when we needed some catering for our wedding party, and we have gone back to them several times since for different events. It's easy to order, they have a wide selection, their website is great- and the food is awesome. You need to try their spinach dip- its out of this world amazing! Total five star vote for Austin Gourmet. read more

Words can not express my disappointment with this firm. We used their services previously and were happy with them then, but December 2020 it took a turn for the worst. We value our staff and colleagues and wanted to order in a "social distancing" Christmas lunch for them since Christmas parties and gatherings were out of the question this year. The menu was ordered on December 7th , paid for at that time, and to be delivered to our office on December 17th. December 16th the order / delivery was confirmed with the company. December 17th at noon when the food did not arrive, a call was made to the company who then told us that the food was on its way. Waited again, still nothing much later. Called the company again. At that time, we were told, that they forgot and the lunch will not be coming at all. What?? I have NEVER heard of a caterer forgetting an order, especially when it was confirmed the day before, and on the day of they said it was on its way. CRAZY! Needless to say we asked to ensure the credit card which was used to pay for the meal was credited back. They said they would and took down the credit card number to be sure. Fast forward to January 4th. Still no credit to the account. Called again... no answer. Emailed... finally got a response that they would "look into it". Finally had to send an email to them saying that if it wasn't credited back to the credit card, we would file a claim with the credit card company. I understand that the food and beverage industry is in bad times right now, and I sympathize with that, but please don't lie and skirt your responsibilities. Please be more responsible and this whole situation could be avoided! read more

I'm quite late on writing my wedding vendor reviews.... better late than never! We had our wedding catered by Austin Gourmet at the end of April this year. They are super easy to deal with everything from custom menu choices to being very familiar with the local venues in the area. My husband picked up the table linens a day or two before the wedding as we had to set up our hall the night before. They had everything ready to go in large bins for them to pick up. The set up night came, and we unpacked the linens only to find there were not enough, and they were completely the wrong size! My family urged me to call the office (me thinking its almost 9, no one would answer!) but they answered and Brandon came out himself almost immediately and brought replacement linens. Apparently they had just gone with a new supplier and he was almost as upset as I was at what happened and couldn't say sorry enough. He even stayed and helped my family and I complete the set up of the linens, which I felt was the extra mile. On the wedding day, Brandon was there, with a small team of amazing servers. The food was great (although I didn't eat much-- I'm told this is normal for a bride!) and their customer service was fantastic. Rave reviews from our family and friends. If you are looking for a reasonably priced caterer in the Lower Mainland area, I recommend these guys! read more

They except credit card payments but do not do credit card refunds. I made food order and they overcharged but now having problems getting the refund. They have not reply to any phone msgs, its has been 3 weeks since I've been trying to get a refund as well as official receipt. read more

Run away. I will start with the positive the food is tasty. good food. They have a good cook. But service is horible. I used them for my Daughters Baptism party. They made alot of mistakes. They came about an hour late. forgot the chafing dishes. went back to get them. didnt bring a lighter. i had to find a guest with one. they forgot the buns and coffee. the came back quickly with the buns. The coffee came about 2.5 hours late. every one was done dessert. The coffee came with old milk. he quickly got more but very little. and very little sugar. i mentioned thats not enough. he said it is and walked away. most people had to drink it with no milk. my father ended up going to safeway to buy sugar for the coffee. while waiting for the coffee I had lots of guests asking me. didnt i order coffee. some even left and went to tim hortons. Very under portioned with the meat I added 7 more people to the number of people i told them. more than the number that came. So i paid for 7 extra people that did not exist as an insurance. Extra 10%. Traded the dessert to get extra 25% more chicken. I dont think that happened. Also my mom brought a tray of beefs for everybody. the chicken was gone quickly regardless of all the extra I added. There was alot of rice and vegatables. thats stuff was more than enough. In summary the food is very delicious. But they need to learn to portion the food a little better with more of the main dish. Very unorganized with timing and what to bring. I did order one of their preset package deals. Un fortante for them they made so many mistakes. they could have gained alot of costomers that day if they had their act together. As for me I consider my experience with them a disaster. they ruined my day. So many guests coming to me to ask whats going on with this caterer. who are they. I do not recomend them. I will not use them again read more

I had such high hopes for Austin Gourmet and, unfortunately, I was left feeling quite disappointed. I organized lunch for a work training session and while they were able to work within our budget, the driver was 45 minutes late delivering lunch. By the time our food arrived, each item was either soggy or lukewarm. We ran out of chicken and not everyone had even eaten yet! Since there were a few vegetarians in attendance, that tells me that Austin Gourmet didn't account or provide 1 chicken skewer per person. I emailed the company the following day and a week later I am still sitting here waiting for a response. This is really disappointing since we organize a number of functions per year and we are always looking for good reliable local caterers. I'm not really sure this one will be considered for our next event. read more

Austin Gourmet catered our club event again this year but this was the first year as a luncheon. The staff were very courteous, efficient, arrived on time and provided lots of good food for our group of 60. I was especially impressed they helped some our more elderly members without being condescending in any way. As an organizer, I always eat last and there was still food left from every dish. By that time, a couple of dishes suffered from the "steam tray blues" but were still tasty. The crew accommodated some special diets and also left our clubhouse clean and tidy at the end of the evening. We will use them for our next event. read more
