I texted her again a few hours later asking for an explanation. Again, nothing. I have not heard from her since. Just beware. Perhaps, it was just a one-off for Evie, and this is not typical. I would think not, looking at all the fabulous reviews. I just glad I didn't pay with Venmo.

I went for a prenatal massage and it had to be one of the poorest and unprofessional massages I ever received. I had it with Eileen and while she was a very nice woman and took the time to explain how I should sit at my desk to alleviate back pain, her massage was very weak and very inconsistent. She explained because i was pregnant she could not address the areas I had the most tension, like my upper back, legs and feet. I thought to myself, then what is left to massage? I've had many massages at spas all over the country as well as prenatal massages, including a few at a spa just for pregnant women and have never been told that massaging my upper back could cause miscarriage. If that were true pregnant women all over would have issues! The room is no frills, which I don't mind at all as long as I get a quality massage but it just wasn't there. If the highlight of the massage is on my forearm, it speaks to how bad the rest of it was. It was 75 minutes of light sweeps along my body, no pressure at all and to make things worse, she talked about her personal life the entire time. So not only could I not relax, I laid there waiting for the massage to somehow get better. And it never did. I felt like it was a waste of my time and money. I wouldn't even pay $20 for that deal. If you have to go, I would recommend requesting a different therapist.

She asked plenty of questions to make sure she would hit all the areas I wanted to be worked on, and the only time she talked was to quietly ask how I was doing every 15-20 minutes or so. Very respectful and relaxing. The massage even included a hot towel foot-wrap and went longer than expected! I walked out of there feeling way more relaxed than I normally do after a massage, and I woke up feeling like a million bucks the next day. Oh honey, that is just the tip of the iceberg with Julia. I started seeing her at a time when I was really struggling to dismantle shame around my body and sexuality. I was also nursing a broken heart and working through some serious self-worth issues. Session by session, she worked with me, healing the parts of me that needed a bit of mending, offering a new expansive perspective. I learn so much just by being in her presence. She is one of those rare souls that exudes grounded, compassionate energy, and embodies easeful sensuality. I feel like I spend half of the time during our sessions healing because I'm close to her energy and the other half healing due to soaking in her spoken wisdom. During our sessions, I am being emotionally held and affirmed at the same time. She is so non-judgemental, caring, and empathetic. I love her style of coaching too, where we enact actual "pretend" scenarios so I can practice the actual words I might say with a lover, or the way I might move with a lover. And the answer is more confidence around women, viewing myself as more attractive and "the catch", and being comfortable being myself and asking for what I want, and not being so worried about acting in a way that I think will be attractive to women. I enrolled in a yoga training expecting a supportive, professional learning environment. Instead, I left feeling unheard and unsupported during one of the most difficult periods of my life, when I was caring for an infant and a young child while also grieving the loss of my adopted mother. Throughout the training, there were multiple occasions where it felt like students were left to fend for themselves instead of receiving the guidance and support I expected from a professional training program. One experience that particularly stood out was when we were told that the students needed to organize our own practice sessions together. There was no virtual option offered and no meaningful support or structure to help us study and practice as a group. I expected the instructors to facilitate more of the learning experience rather than placing that responsibility on the students. I was also told that I would receive a refund for the training. However, instead of receiving the support I had been led to expect, I experienced a phone conversation that left me feeling shamed and dismissed. During that conversation, I was told that I "needed state services," which I found hurtful and unrelated to the concerns I was raising. Rather than addressing my concerns about the training, I felt that my personal circumstances were used to undermine my perspective. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. I believe wellness professionals should treat clients with compassion, respect, accountability, and professionalism, especially when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
