WARNING. Do not come here for PDT treatment. THE WORST MEDICAL EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.
I saw Dr Austin in December 2020 for skin cancer removal on my lip, Photodynamic Therapy was discussed as solaraze cream was not working. Dr Austin asked if she could take a photo of my face, I said I didn't really care for it, as I know the whole purpose of this in the "beauty industry" is for the "experts" to start pointing out in detail everything that is wrong. I am 46 year old Australian woman living on the Northern Beaches, my face will have age and sun damage. Dr Austin takes the photo and proceeds to show me all the damage, that she is going to "fix". She tells me almost my whole face has sun damage. I book in for PDT for with Dr Susan Austin. On the day of treatment I see Dr Austin in the morning when the ALA cream is applied to my face and while this is getting done, she proceeds to tell me "Tracey"* will be one actually completing the procedure (light therapy) in the afternoon.. Even though I had waited for a month to be treated by Dr Austin for a medical procedure for my face, on the actual day, once my treatment had already begun I was told "Tracey" would be finishing it. To say it all went WRONG would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. It is now NINE WEEKS after my "treatment", I have been in "urgent care" at Mona Vale hospital suffering burns to my entire face. I have been unable to go outside for work or exercise, I have spent thousands of dollars on medical care and specialists and treatment. Dr Austin gave me my money back but when I asked her to speak with her insurance company who would cover her (you would hope) for instances like mine, I was told by them (thank you Avant) that I could have $500 to settle the case, and not to write any negative public reviews, oh and the reason my face is still burnt, red, and swollen, with burn lumps all over it is because I get cold sores. Nothing to do with my treatment.
My "medical certificate" from Dr Austin who wrote "feels like she is unable to work" since getting her face burnt off at my clinic. Has been on heavy antibiotics and steroids since treatment and cannot go outside but she says she "feels' like she hasn't been able to work.
