This cotton on is HUGE…read more My jaw dropped when I first saw it and it hit the floor when I walked in. you may not be aware but Rubi Shoes is a division of cotton on, so one section of this store is dedicated to shoes. Another section is dedicated to accessories and there are wall to wall clothes catering to guys, gals and kids for your browsing pleasure. If I'm in shopping mode, I can spend a good hour in here, happily sifting through shoes and pretty dresses while contemplating if buying another pair of wedge heels really is a bit obnoxious. The guys section is nearly as big as the girls, so your partner doesn't have to stand there awkwardly while you revel in the good feeling that is accessories, and he wont come back for a while (hopefully). I guarantee you wont leave here without a new something or other, so if you are trying to curb your spending, don't even walk past because the colourful television set display is the first thing you wont say no to.

Like Elissa says this store is massive and has everything from your usual fashion items to shoes, pyjamas underwear and even swimwear and caters for the whole family. It is a great place to shop for you basic items like singlets and shorts. Most of the cotton dresses are very prone to creasing so you are better off buying something with a bit of lycra in it. If you are buying dresses I suggest the more T shirt style that you can just throw over a pair of bathers in summer. Their pyjamas are really good and the quality is there. We came away with some great summer pyjamas and a cute swing singlet. Considering the store is huge and the range is definitely on the cheaper side, they have done a really good fit out that doesn't feel cheap unlike some of the other competitors in the market.

I wasn't super impressed with my old shoe repairer so decided to check this place out…read more I took in two pairs of shoes for reheeling. The first he did within a day for $15 (both heels). The second pair, which had only been worn once since repair, he showed me faults with the repair and why it hadn't lasted (apparently the glue was too hot when it was attached which was why the heel had broken off and the sole was coming away). He was happy to fix it, but said if anyone brought back a pair he'd repaired like that, he would fix it for free. He suggested I return it to the other repair and get them to correct it. I did and they did without too much fuss. Still, I'll be coming here in future.

I really like the idea of everything being colour coded as well. It makes it easier to browse the clothes, especially when you fancy a certain colour. The clothes aren't usually too expensive to begin with, so considering this is an outlet store the clothes are even cheaper. The store is fairly large with plenty of stock avaliable. They have business attire, casual clothing, sleepwear, swimwear and they even sell a small selection of shoes and accesories such as scarfs and handbags. If you're part of the Harbour Town VIP porgame you are entitled to 10% off full priced items. Yay!

They actually have quite a lot of stuff and if it's not good enough they can't sell it so it always checked items for sale. Mostly clothes and some minor bric a brac, not much furniture really but a little. However I did manage to get some great second hand clothes for my kids. An amazing shirt for my youngest which he wore ALL the time. Absolutely LOVED it! And some really cool Holden pyjamas that were still in great condition. I picked up some really good bargains and walked out with a few items for each child and only spent about $30.00. Kids grow out of clothes so quickly that you can pick up really good second hand stuff that is barely worn. After getting some great bargains here myself I always donate what my kids grow out of back to them to sell to another person looking to get some good pre-loved clothes and save a few dollars.

The pricing on most items is very reasonable (they could probably even charge more), however it can be a bit of a lucky dip when it comes to what is on offer. Unfortunately (well at least for myself) in recent years, the book collection has significantly been reduced in size. Clothing and furniture remain dominant though, which is a good thing if you are looking for some penny-pinching home-ware items. They also have a good range of kids toys, most of which appeared basic staples when I was there but nonetheless can be quite useful. At the end of the day, the money does go to a good cause and I am sure that there is something to suit everyone in the shop (at some point or another).

I think the issue here is that while a lot of this stuff may look great, it's very dressy and not something you're going to want to wear or use every day. This store is a godsend when it comes to getting the correct fit for your child's feet and no it's not cheap but there is a sales table usually out the front. It has been a family owned business for over 35 years in North Adelaide, so people know they can trust the staff to do a proper fit, ensuring your purchase is the right one. I've always found there is no problem for staff to go and get an armfull of boxes out from the back room for my child and I to try several different brands and she which suits and fits. They stock alot of Clarks and Grosby brands and also shoes and sandals which can accommodate orthopedic inserts. Plus fun stuff too like sneakers and thongs such as Dunlop, Crocs, Havaianas and other more exotic brands I've never heard of before. They come in various do ups like velcro, buckle, lace or slip on they've got them all. Definitely worth a trip out to North Adelaide.

There are plenty of places to sit and wait for your love to deck her feet. Furthermore, there's a full-length mirror for you to amuse yourself by pulling funny faces. Shoppers will enjoy the full-length mirror too, as those feet-view mirrors don't quite show off how much sexier you look in that new pair of stilettos. The staff is helpful and will assault you the moment you pass through the door, but leave you alone the instant you mutter the token phrase, 'I'm just browsing', and return as soon as you appear to require the afore-offered aid. Finally, the prices are reasonable considering the quality and designer brands. That's right, ladies: designer brands! I can hardly contain my excitement.

They have two stores in the Adelaide CBD: one is "The Boutique" situated in the Central Markets, the other is "The Showroom" situated on Gouger St. They seem to be doing well judging from the amount of people that were trying on shoes - young and old, I might add. "The Showroom" store is where you will find more fashionable designer styles, while "The Boutique" store is where they specialise in comfort and work shoes with brands like Birkenstock. Here, they also do more specials, and stock more leisure and casual shoes, plus outdoor hiking shoes and boots. I bought my work shoes here a year ago. They have lasted me all this time while maintaining comfort and minimizing tired feet after an 8 hour shift at the cafe where I work. With their wide range and friendly, knowledgeable service, Lana Lang is a trustworthy place to shop. Oh, and they also do repairs and alterations for affordable prices.

I'm not one of those, but I still like popping into stores like this every so often to check them out, and maybe grab a record that brings back memories. It seems that records in Adelaide are getting more popular to purchase and collect in the last…read morecouple of years. My thoughts are that records (if you treat them right) last longer than CDs. Then the attraction to collect music with some amazing artwork and limited addition books that come with them. Or maybe it is just nostalgia? Records do have a specific sound that you can't replicate well on CD. My partner and I used to buy heaps of CDs. But stopped after a while as they just kept scratching. I have thrown so many away. Do you remember when you where younger ordering and waiting your favourite cassettes and CDs? There was a lot of excitement and anticipation of getting it home and thrashing it on your player. Or maybe you grew up in the vinyl era and you always knew the value of owning a piece of physical musical artwork. Recently my partner and I decided to purchase a record player from a thrift store. Consequently this has developed a lust for vinyl. We have been searching high and dry for good record stores. We came across Rocktherapy simply when driving past. The big record on top of the store is a good flagpole. The store is small, but has some quality and well priced records and CDs stocked. There are a couple of rare and collectables available depending on your taste. I was very happy to find a Grandmaster Funk LP for $10. Got that little gem home for many laughs and dancing around the living room. The gentleman that owns and runs the store is very friendly and helpful. He is happy to have a chat about music and what his store has too offer. I think that stores like this is something that I really missed from when I was growing up. Now with access the Mp3s kids are missing out on that sense of excitement in finding something cool in a record store and owning it's physical form! For my fellow vinylheads, worth a trip to browse!
