I have a knee problem, and one day I had hurt it so much I could barley move without a lot of pain. I could barley walk, much less stand. I called her that day and she scheduled me a few hours later. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time, she asked me questions and answered mine, when I had any. She made observations. I felt like she really cared for my well being. She made sure that the needle insertions were not painful. And most of them I had barely felt, some were more shocking than hurtful, like a pinch. After the session I was able to straighten my knee! And the very next day i was able to go to work. When I know for a fact it would have taken me several days to recover.

The whole process took about 45 minutes. I entered as a skeptic, left as a believer with virtually zero back pain, and a couple days later I was somewhere in between a believer and a sceptic. After the procedure and some cupping, the pain WAS gone for the rest of the day. On my second day, it was a dull bruised feeling, by the time four or five days passed, I was back to moderate pain. My conclusion is that acupuncture probably works for chronic pain if used regularly. But I don't see it as a way to help heal an injury. My co-pay is $10, so it was worth a shot. I would consider going back for certain things, but probably won't return anytime soon.
