Most places close at 7pm, but Kessler is open until 8pm. Last nite was my first session with Allison and wow, she is amazing!!!! She evaluated me and then we started off with about 5 stretching exercises. She also massaged my lower back which felt amazing. I kid you not, when I left there, my back felt AH-mazing. I even slept thru the nite with NO pain. I woke up this morning and I feel like I am 16 again. All from just 1 session! I can't wait to do the rest of my visits. This is exactly what I needed. PT hurts - there is no way around that - but Shelley and Mamta get you through it with patience and understanding; and before you know it....you are past the pain and just focusing on the recovery! I was always treated with respect and compassion, the stretches and exercises were explained and demonstrated in a way I could understand and I was sent videos and explanations of the treatment I had to do at home. The location is very convenient, the building and equipement is clean and new, there is plenty of parking and plenty of available appointments. Billing, check-in and payments are all handled effortlessly and efficiently. All in all, a great place to have your injury taken care of!

During the course of my treatment here, I have been seen by Tova, Scott, Megan, Gabe and Gabby. All are very knowledgeable and friendly. They look that the patients chart to ensure there continuity of the workouts and stretches. I also like how there's some additional stretches and workout provided from time to time. I tried to follow the routines and committed myself to come here at least three times and week for the first month and then twice a week in the subsequent months as my pain gradually subsided and my shoulder's range of motion improved. I stood up to let somebody know & a guy with dark hair & a low bun came over and said"what did you do?!" Not very nice to put it mildly. I told him I didn't touch anything to which he remarked "uh okay" again nasty. Then he goes to the other nasty older lady with blondish hair, says something & she says "what, did she screw it up"? Not even 10 feet from me! He comes back & says "well now I have to wait for someone with the authority to reset this bc I can't do it, I don't know what you did" I tell him again, I didn't do anything to which he says " well now you have to wait". I couldn't believe this guy. So I wait for about 25 mins, not great but whatever, as he and the blondish lady are literally talking about me! Looking at me, looking at each other m, looking at me, rolling their eyes. Even making eye contact w/ me & holding it! Unreal. So the man they were waiting for Paul apparently returns, the guy with the bun comes over, resets the computer for me and says nasty again " if you have another issue, ask someone, don't touch anything"! With dramatic arm gestures like I'm a child. I start the questionnaire over again annoyed as he returns to the lady & starts talking about me again! At this point I've had it. I literally stood up, started putting on my coat when the lady comes over & says "is everything ok"? I said "no, I'm done here, I'm going to go to the Melville location. She says "the computer is the same there" I say"it's not the computer, you people are awful" I'm not someone who complains or causes drama whatsoever but at this point, I was so angry at the unprofessional demeanor of these people. I live in Massapequa where this location is & it was so bad I drove all the way to Melville at the peak of rush hour in the rain, that's how bad it was. The staff in Melville were great.chris behind the desk, Jennifer, and the other lady with the strawberry blond hair I didn't get the name of. Thank you so much for making my experience with you guys professional & extremely pleasant, you were so great. I honestly feel these other 2 in massapequa should not be dealing with people. They should be put at a desk behind the scenes & do data entry. I'm sorry this is so long but I had to get this out, I've haven't been able to get it out of my head.

After answering some intake questions on a computer, I waited for about 5 minutes, then was seen by staff who checked my blood pressure and iron levels with a quick finger prick. I was then led to a reclining chair with a TV. Since a window was casting major glare, I couldn't really watch it. While you can donate platelets, plasma, and red blood cells here, they take around 2 hours each. Donating whole blood just takes 1 hour start to finish and my actual donation time was under 8 minutes for a pint. Afterwards, I had some crackers and apple juice they provided. Super friendly staff always made me feel safe and comfortable. A staff member actually gave me a whole bag of Oreos to take home for my kids. I'd definitely choose this place again. TIPS: **You can schedule an appointment online at http://www.nybloodcenter.org **Unisex bathroom **Plenty of parking in their shared lot in the back. You can enter through the back (main entrance). **Right next to Dancers Pointe and across the street from Allstate.

I feel like it stems from the manager of the site who always seems cranky. I'm a regular donor and I don't want to dissuade anyone from donating, but if you can, go to Vitalant. They are much friendlier and welcoming. I will continue to donate regularly but never again at the Scotch Plains site. Awful place.

The entire procedure takes about 1hr. but the actual donation takes 15 minutes. A whole blood donation is used primarily for trauma patients and those undergoing surgery. In the past I have donated platelets (cancer, blood disorder. open heart & transplant surgery patients), plasma ( used by serious burn & those with blood clotting issues) and power red (sickle cell, anemia, trauma and surgery patients. I was alerted to a severe blood shortage by email. To donate blood go to Vitalant's online site to find a Vitalant near you and schedule an appointment. I have an account set up with Vatalant and receive points toward reward cards. You begin the process by checking-in at the front desk. Your are handed a tablet with a touch screen to answer a series of questions. Step two involves having your answers checked and your vitals checked. Step three is the actual drawing of blood or blood parts. The staff is well trained with protocols which assure that your donation is correct and excuted properly. While donating you are constantly monitored to ensure your comfort and safety. They are very experienced at inserting the needle efficiently and painlessly as possible. After donating they have a snack bar set up and suggest you have a snack and drink before leaving.

Once I donated, I never received any email or app notification, but since then I receive at least 3-4 calls a week soliciting for blood or plasma and they come from all different phone numbers in the tri state area and can't be blocked. Seems like false advertising for the rewards and although I have called and sent 3 emails since then, and its been weeks, still no response, call or a gift card of any sort. I would hope if there was an issue with the app or their database, they'd at least let me know. At least the Blood Center of NJ provided what they offered.
