Augustus is an icon; an emblem of the city's rich, historic past. It's a located on a corner in front of the stock exchange. It's a place to come when you're in a mood for elegant, upscale, classy atmosphere, well-dressed staffers, and impeccable service. Outdoor seating also affords some very good people watching vistas.
While the food is quite good, and the drinks are well made and satisfying, there's an "Old Boys Club" feel to Augustus. Most of its patrons have been customers for the years, and are unflaggingly faithful to this old stand-by.
Why can't I highly recommend this place? It's expensive; very expensive. It's become so expensive of late that many of it's patrons have simply taken their business elsewhere.
I have no doubt that should management bring the prices back down into the reasonable range, Augustus will once again become very busy. read more
