I called Home Depot 1-800 number applied for a loan online through their portal…read more They sold me a loan with a higher interest rate in order for me to not have to escrow taxes and insurance. Their appraisal process was horrible the first appraiser never showed and then said that since the property was larger than normal they had to charge double. After we agreed to the new rate never showed up and then said that it was not worth his time to do the appraisal. They had to get someone else to do it which was no issue. But I still got charged the more expensive rate. The closing process was a nightmare they send me six closing HUD statements via the portal for my approval. Then they had the title company changed the deed / title in order for us to go forward as I am in Florida and they are in California they did not approve the way it was done in Florida. Which caused me more money. After going to closing signing all the documents and waiting the 3 days of right of cancellation they funded the loan. At that point I was notified by my closing title company that I was going to be receiving less money and that loan Depot without my permission had changed the closing documents including the HUD they literally increase my payment gave me less money without my approval. I left messages with loandepot which they did not reply to. One of their agents called me to apologize that they had an issue had forgotten to add the flood insurance and they were escrowing it. I filed a complaint with the government agency that oversees the lending Banks loan Depot replied that my complaint was correct and that they had made an error but that the case was closed and that nothing would change. In conclusion I am paying a higher interest rate for a loan without escrows which is being escrowed and received less funds at closing. The disrespect and unprofessionalism shown by loan Depot is beyond belief Do not use them they have no idea what they're doing they will tell you anything to get you to sign the documents and then change it to what's good for them. Beware of loan Depot stay away!!
