Let me start by saying i REALLY liked this place. After 13 years without a dental visit- I came to…read morefresh smiles upon recommendation of a coworker, who had been going here for years. My initial visit went well- I provided my insurance information and was provided a treatment plan detailing my costs- perfect! I was informed I would need a deep cleaning- which would need to happen in 2 sessions. I went to my first appointment early december and paid the amount outlined in the treatment plan. Easy peasy. TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned. Please be warned that while this dentist office has some of THE sweetest hygienists, and a great atmosphere, the communication here is absolute garbage between patients and their front office. Please do better!

After completing my X-rays and consultation with the dentist, I was then advised there was "no time" left for my cleaning. I expressed my concern because only part of the appointment was honored. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, so the lack of fulfillment was extremely unprofessional and showed very little consideration for patients and their time.

Extremely disappointing experience with this dental office…read more Before any treatment, I clearly stated that I did not want services that were not covered by my insurance. Despite that, I was later billed for charges I never knowingly approved and never agreed to pay out of pocket. What made this worse was the lack of transparency. I repeatedly asked for clear documentation, itemized charges, and proof that I signed for certain services they later claimed I owed. Instead of properly resolving the dispute, the account was sent to collections and reported to the credit bureaus. I already paid significant amounts directly to the office, including payment for Invisalign by credit card, yet they still pursued additional disputed charges without properly explaining them. Patients should be very careful here and request everything in writing before agreeing to treatment. Make sure you fully understand what insurance covers and what they may later try to bill you for. Very stressful experience overall, especially the handling of billing and collections.

First, if you call looking for Brian Carp (listed as the business owner) you find out he's been…read moreretired for years. Second, in my experience, they will lure you in with a $99 teeth cleaning special, then TAKE X-RAYS and say "That's it." Then they upsell for a $600 treatment plan and act confused as to why you want your money back. From their own website: "Any teeth cleaning at Carp Dental in Norristown, PA will include the following: Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now attached to the surface of your teeth. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental cleaning instruments. Removal of plaque: Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on your teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease. Teeth polishing: removes staining and plaque from your teeth that is not removed during routine tooth brushing." This is a lie. Third, Monica should be nowhere NEAR customers of any kind. This argumentative personality who literally can't spell HIPAA is as unprofessional as you will find. (She really did mis-spell "hippa" in communications to the Better Business Bureau and myself. Yea, real pros working over there) Avoid. Pathetic amateurs who will steal your money and not provide service. Lastly, a quote from monica herself "Unfortunately at this time i am not able to release any information without the Patient signing a HIPPA form for me to do so. I would be more than happy to give you any Information on this case as everything that was sent to you is the PT not understanding his treatment and understand how our $99 Patient Special works. Please feel free to call me at my office with anymore questions. 610-275-1565. Monica" Do you really want to trust your health to someone who will steal your money AND can't spell HIPAA ?

We chose Advanced Dentistry of Harleysville for convenience of location, provision of pediatric dental care, in-network insurance coverage, soonest new patient appointment, and reviews from other community members. I had contacted 3 other dental offices prior to making a decision. To say we had an incredible first experience is an understatement! My husband has some dental anxieties and had a wonderful experience with both the dental hygienist and dentist, Dr. Shah. His first appointment was scheduled for the next day which included X-rays and a thorough cleaning and examination. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and honest without being pushy about services or "extras" that may not be needed. I went a week later with my toddler and had a wonderful experience as well. They were quick and great with my uncooperative toddler and did not mind him hanging out to wait for me to be done. My appointment felt very thorough as well and the staff, once again, was amazing. Dr. Shah laid out options for future dental work, but encouraged me to think about everything as it was not urgent. Not one person in the office was pushy with anything and explained each step and answered all questions. Wonderful experience with a very nice office and great staff. Highly recommend! We all won't mind going back for routine care one bit!

I do not recommend. I was given misleading information about this dentist being a Preferred Delta…read moreDental PPO provider, which they also advertise on their website. After I got the estimates for the dental work to be done from the insurance, which were higher than expected, I asked to be sent somewhere else to complete the rest of the work, with a dentist that is actually a Preferred Delta Dental PPO provider for real. But this office decided to charge my insurance for the rest of the work that they never performed and now I have to take action in getting my money back to go somewhere else. They charged my insurance for installing a crown that they did not install! Be very, very careful! Do not trust their website. Check with your insurance. I am still walking around without a tooth, and they charged my insurance for completing this work! The office did not answer my email either, regarding billing. I asked for a refund for the part of the claim they charged my insurance, but they did not complete. They still have my tooth but charged my insurance for installing it in my mouth. Well, it is not in my mouth! Ciara is very rude and unhelpful and did not call me back after the front desk said she will check on coverage and let me know. She continues to insist the dentist is a PPO delta dental preferred provider even though he is not. Their website also advertises this. No one answered my email either. It is quite unbelievable that they charged my insurance for installing a crown, and I still have a missing tooth. They did not call me or email me back or contact me back in any way. Very dishonest. Be warned! All I asked was to be issued a refund for the portion that the insurance paid them for, but they did not yet complete. I would also like my crown to be sent to a preferred Delta Dental PPO provider, so I can go there to get my tooth fixed. I think it is a reasonable request, given that this office would charge me 30% more for out of pocket because well, of course, according to Delta Dental, they are NOT a preferred PPO Delta Dental provider, as they claim, no matter what they advertise on their website or what Ciara tries to convince you.
