An unexpected gem in the foothills of Castillo de Chapultepec, this is an easy place to inadvertently pass by. Covered by a thicket of bamboo and other pleasant overgrown greenery, you'll find yourself transported to a small haven where you can read, meditate or commune with nature (and cats!). It felt almost like a fairytale land. I found it very cool to have a private park inside of an already amazing park. It's a pretty fantastic, and in my experience unprecedented, idea to have a secluded area in a park so that denizens can just relax to themselves. There's a small lending library, a shrine to our Lady of Guadalupe next to a cave and plenty of colorful benches for peeps to relax on. Subtle classical and world music adds to the atmosphere. So if you're feeling ennui or need to escape the chaos of everyday life, this could be the perfect antidote. read more

This is like a mini park within the park... it's smoke free, relaxing and peaceful. I was surprised to find this on my walk, trying to get to Chapultepec Castle (there's no shortcut!) and ended up here. What a great spot to relax and enjoy some nice music in a safe spot in the park! read more

The Audiorama is a clearing in the woods at the base of Chapultepec Hill with park benches, classical music, and a free lending library. If you need a break from the noise of the city this might be a good place. The book collection is not all that great, you might want to bring your own.If you have trouble finding it, there are signs, but the entrance is hidden behind the Air Force Memorial. read more
