I had tried for so long to get tickets to Big Bang Theory - we had been in line at least 5 times over 5 years with either standby or actual tickets - and we never got in.

Bell- Jeff Bingo - Pettra!! Best Bingo Caller!!

Did you know BINGO was invented by the Italians in the 16th century? It was called "Il Gioco del…read moreLotto" and a version of that is still played in Italy today! Eventually word of mouth made its way to France, where it was called "Le Lotto," a game of chance enjoyed by wealthy aristocrats, before catching on in Germany and then finally, to the the United States in the 1920's, when it was called "Beano" because dried beans were used to mark the winning numbers. BEANO became BINGO when a player accidentally yelled "Bingo!" instead of "Beano!" out of sheer excitement and the name was forever changed. A Catholic priest then had the grand idea to use Bingo as a means to help raise church funds during the Great Depression and the rest is history. America's beloved pastime's popularity started to wane in the 90's and 2000's but I'm glad to say Bingo is back, baby, and stronger than ever, judging from the crowds of young influencers and old sticklers alike that come to play this game. Bell-Jeff Bingo, which gathers every Tuesdays from 4pm is by far the best Bingo Hall in the vicinity. It is a clean, bright and calm space, with lots of parking right outside and the most interesting players (hustlers!?) and the nicest, most patient flash card runners/volunteers. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the food, such as burgers, tacos, and grilled cheese that you can order and eat while you're playing. The whole experience lends to a night of fun and relaxation, a truly wonderful social community event. All the players tell me it's not about the winning that's addictive when it comes to Bingo, oh no, no. It's the whole experience leading up to that win. It's the slow building of anticipation and manifestation, the prayers, laughter, comradery and then finally, the realization of the win. Everyone should experience this euphoric feeling of calling out "Bingo!" and winning $$$ because it is a feeling like no other. Come and experience for yourself because it is like nothing else. See you here.

This bingo facility is like no other. It is very clean, well-lit and serves good food! Not to…read moremention the friendly volunteers that treat players like family and friends.

I've gone to Round 1 Burbank a couple times since it opened a few years back. Being someone who…read moregrew up with the fighting game arcade culture of the 90s and 2000s, I was THRILLED to see that had cabs for many Capcom FGs like Capcom vs SNK 2, MvC2, SF3 Third Strike, and even newer titles like Street Fighter V. Now if they had some Tekken cabs, then everything would be perfect. They also had lots of music games and racing games like Maximum Tune. The arcade part itself elevates my score for this place. With my recent trip as part of a group of parents planning for an impromptu after party for the cast and crew for the St Genevieve Parish Schools Musical production's closing weekend, I was amazed at how the Round 1 crew were receptive to our needs. We reserved a karaoke party room for about 30 kids. Louis took down my number for the reservation, and he was very nice and accommodating. We did have to wait about an hour for our party room to be ready, which was fair. Meanwhile, my group of teens entertained themselves with MULTIPLE takes on the photo booths, surely to satiate their social media needs. When the karaoke room was ready, fun and memories were made not just for them, but also the parents. Truly a wonderful time. Now for the dark side of this review. Though Louis was awesome, he did mention that I should get a text within 5 minutes confirming my reservation. It was almost 30 minutes and still never received a text, and when I talked to Louis about it, he said that I had to connect to the Round 1 wifi in order to receive text updates. Rather unintuitive, I thought. But Louis did assure me that it didn't affect my place in line, which was good to know. Also, the thing that brings my score down... the food. I ordered the buffalo wings. Not only were the wings not of size, but the watery buffalo sauce was just thrown in that I may as well have had a buffalo chicken soup. Also, though they did not charge me for a pitcher of water for my singing teens, they did charge the other parents that I was with for the exact same pitchers of water. At that point, I was telling myself it must have been my charm that got me free water lol. All in all, Round 1 is top notch when it comes to fun. It celebrates arcade culture of yesterday with their fighting games, music games, and driving games, while providing photo booths and claw games with kawaii merch that today's youth adores. Just please, eat somewhere else before coming here. The mall's food court right outside the entrance has some nice options. Or... just don't order the buffalo wings.

The other play is Confederates, Los Angeles Premier... written by Suzanne Bradbeer and directed by Christopher Hart playing from now until December 16th 2019. Confederates appears to be a drama. An older colleague urges him to publish it immediately while the daughter and his conscience tells him to bury it". Tickets for these shows can be purchased online at www.gtc.org Maybe, I'll give GTC five stars if I ever watch a stageplay there, but that's not today. I should be at the Betsy Leuke Creative Arts Center (5-stars), Photography Reception instead of yelping in front the theater. I used my WAZE and it took us to the Recreation Center! We decided to drive around the block, but my WAZE still took us here! I decided to park and we walked towards the recreation center and what do we see?!?! A small sign with an arrow pointing towards the back of the Recreation Center. We followed the path and found another sign and there it was.... The Grove Theater!! Looked REALLY small from the outside. When we entered the theater, you right away are in the lobby/intermission area. They sold cookies and drinks only. Small seating area, but nicely done and looks cozy. The theater looks new. The seats were comfortable. The theater states it holds 99 seats which I found hard to believe. By the time the play started (we saw A Christmas Carol), the theater was about 1/4 full. The play itself was well done with only three actors. It's amazing what they did with their "costume changes" utilizing their red or green scarf. The male actor changed his character just by messing up his hair and changing his voice and mannerisms! The play was well done and I would highly recommend it. No intermission. Only 90 minutes. Never a dull moment. Plenty of free street parking. They have their own parking lot, but I don't have a clue as to how to get to it!! We would definitely return.
