Filling in their websites quick form, I was surprised when they contacted me that same afternoon. The entire process of financing and purchasing my new car was quick and more importantly, painless. I have no problem recommending O'Regan's to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. I was impressed with the friendly, respectful attitude from both Robert Drohan and Tine Kidd, and will happily recommend them to my friends and family. But, there comes a time in every good car's life where maintenance costs aren't worth it, and it's time to get something else. Things like this are stressful, and as of last August, I was in a pinch to have more maintenance completed or find a new mode of transportation - fast. So, I set out on a Saturday with a clear head, a focused set of demands for a new vehicle, and the hope that I would soon have a solution to my problem. The first place I visited was the O'Regan's Used Car Centre. The sales specialist that greeted me was Dean Cook, and he immediately was able to define what I was looking for and come up with some suggestions. I can't say I was the easiest customer to deal with, but he was able to give me some perspective on some options that fit my criteria. I visited a few other used car locations that same day, but nothing else was able to compare to both the service and options that I was able to find at O'Regan's, and before the afternoon was out, I had made a purchase from Dean! It was a bit of a sudden transition to be offered to take home my new toy for the weekend and finish the paperwork on Monday, but I obliged. The staff here are a direct extension of the O'Regan group of companies, so the sales staff have access to all the O'Regan lots and will bring cars to you, if their is something in their database that you are interested in at another location. Additionally, they take trade-ins, made sure my car was washed, tossed in some free mats and did some break work on the car free of charge when I noticed a couple things I wanted adjusted. I really valued the time and attention that the staff give each customer here - there's a tendency to visit other used car locations and deal with seemingly shady salesman, but not here. I'd consider this the first and best spot to look for a 2nd-hand car in Halifax.

By the time I did get in, both fairly new tires on the front on were trashed. Over the course of my time taking my car here, I had other non-mechanical problems. Just really shoddy in the approach and customer care. It happens when you think you're the only game in town. End result? I don't go here anymore. I found a great generic mechanic and the shop rate is two-thirds of what it is here. Wish I hadn't waited so long to leave.

When I inquired, the website showed 72 new Subarus on the lot. When I asked if any of those cars were available the salesperson actually giggled. They explained they had zero new cars available, have not had new cars available for 3 months and didn't expect to have any new cars available in the foreseeable future. I asked why they showed so many cars available on the website. They explained all the cars were ordered and sold months ago. The salesman also didn't see why it was important to update their website. It's 2022. Most businesses keep their websites updated. I am dubious about dealing with a business at long distance who can't even be honest about their stock. As I am writing this their website still shows over 65 new vehicles for sale and available on their lot.

Put up my payments, told me to put windshield through insurance and told me I was getting a "smoking deal". I have emailed sales manager 2x and called with no response. I have now gone elsewhere. After an assessment on my vehicle, they said they would give me $1600. They said they weren't interested in my car but wanted me to put a deposit down on a car that they had in the lot, but to wait for that same one to come in at a later date. The sales associate didn't know the interest rates. Wouldn't answer questions when we asked why the interest rate was so high for the 22 whereas the interest rate for the 2023 make was way lower. Recommended us to drive my car and take the business elsewhere. Gerard said he was turning away his own family. Luckily, Colonial Honda helped us out. Byron at Colonial Honda was amazing. Gave us $5700 for the trade in. Walked in right off the bat and was given a business card and military discount. We are so grateful for Byron at Colonial Honda and will recommend him and them to everyone. Do not waste your time for the unprofessionalism at Portland Honda.

    OK.. First of all…read morethanks Stacey for the follow up.. and here is my update as promised.. Returned back home at 6 pm on Dec 18th.. totally bummed out to find a voice message on my Land line (I specifically asked to be contacted on my cell number) asking for a call back.. It a different person who was only following up based on the sale's exec. request, was told that I don't qualify for lease without a co-signer.. and that i should consider financing option. i gotta say i was taken back by that however after consulting my financial adviser i decided not to go ahead with it. called back and informed the finance team member of my decision.. she was really persuasive.. however i decided not to go ahead with this.. to sum things up.. Loved the sales experience.. hated the lack of follow up.. loved the replacement finance person who was more than ready to help and go above and beyond in explaining things.. totally understanding how new I'm to the whole thing. Changed my review to 4 stars instead of 3 coz the guys over there are awesome!

    Nissan had the worst service I've ever experienced at any shop!…read moreI brought my car in for a diagnosis they told me I need to replace a part. I did what they suggested, and it did not work. They MISDIAGNOSED the problem! I took it back in; they looked at my car again, agreed they had misdiagnosed it, ran more tests, and said it was a different part. So, I replaced that part. That did not fix the problem. It still does not work! Two MISDIAGNOSED, costing me nearly $900. I spoke to a manager who was unapologetic about these misdiagnoses and said they would be happy to keep looking into it and continue charging me. I am disappointed that the mechanics could not find the problem, and frustrated that the management would neither refund my money for misdiagnoses nor make good on finding the problem without charging me hundreds more. I am happy to pay for good work, but being charged for multiple misdiagnoses is unethical.
