After my first trip I was not impressed, I went to see the only female doctor about a UTI and she insisted that because of the extra weight I was carrying I almost definitely had Polycystic ovaries. Never addressed the UTI and the poly test came back negative. Surprise. The second trip was even worse. I went in complaining of an extremely sore throat that had been lingering for weeks, the doctor opened my mouth and said "oh it's just a virus and will go away on its own". Didn't even bother testing my blood or saliva. He then prescribed me ANTI HISTAMINES. WTF. Needless to say it wasn't viral and only went away after I had to pay unregistered client fees at a different doctor and they prescribed me antibiotics. Cannot. Complain. Enough.

This practice is linked to my own local GP, so I had no major issues with processing the paperwork, only the usual ACC stuff. I had dealings with the nurse from my own GP practice, this made things easier to discuss about my issue. It also made life easier on my follow up visit to my GP. All the staff involved were very friendly, empathetic, and reassuring. The issue was quickly resolved without too much discomfort. If I gladly return if the situation ever required it, and I am not a fan of any medical procedure at all !!

After my initial consult with the dentist , I've just had regular check ups with the hygienist Riona who is so friendly and gentle . There's nothing more horrible in life to feel like your $100 poorer and with a mouth that feels like a basketball , 8 sharp things and a vacuum have been shoved in there . She always checks I'm ok and let's me take breaks if it's getting too much . This surgery also has Southern Cross affiliates .

The quality of medical care here is generally good, I have been a patient here for over 10 years…read more It is often hard to get an appointment and they seem to have a high turnover of GP's - not sure of the reason for that. Also the nurses are very nice, caring and efficient. However, the BIG thing that lets this place down is the unfriendly receptionists. They really are old dragons and I can only assume they are either all very unhappy in their work or else they all have chips on their shoulders. No compassion, no cheery greeting - just a cold, steely glare is all they give. I am sure they are all very efficient and get the job done, but when people are sick/wounded/in pain etc, a cheery greeting and a smile can really lift one's spirit. How about it?

It's not the most exciting of buildings, but it's the quality of the staff that is the most important thing. Every time that I've gone here, this place is very busy and bookings are pretty much essential, and even then be prepared to wait for a while. All of the Doctors and nurses that I've seen here are professional, friendly and caring people, and I haven't experienced the treatment that I have received here from anywhere else. I often prefer to make the long drive from the city to go to a GP here instead of booking in at another medical centre around town.
