Inside, the walls are painted in several shades of purple and hung with an assortment of floral and equestrian paintings. Beneath their glass tops, the tables are strewn with rose petals (purple again) and heart-shaped confetti. We began our meal with the fois gras (some of the best I've ever had) and the thinly sliced artichoke carpaccio. This was served with a chunky tomato sauce and ribbons of olive oil and balsamic vinegar (delicious and addicting). I then tried the "seco" d'agneau which was presented in a steaming tagine, smelling of saffron and spices. This was also very good - the lamb was incredibly tender and the sauce was mild but complex. Overall, the food was delicious and well-prepared, the atmosphere relaxed and casual, and the service attentive and patient with our limited French. Several times I saw the chef come out from the kitchen to observe our progress in the meal. *Be sure to brush up on French butchery vocab beforehand - I'm still unsure exactly what part of veal my husband ordered for his main course. It wasn't meat.

I'm particularly impressed by the selection of starters that almost count as an entire meal. The choice of wine offers a appreciable selection for any taste and budget. The main courses however (having been there several times) might tend to be a bit salty. The chef is from the Brittany region, which is why everything is cooked almost exclusively with butter (no or only little oil). Go for the suggestions of the day and will not regret. Choosing the full menu (starter, main and dessert) is almost too much to handle (even for a passionate eater).
