The fries were nice and dark in the Québec fashion. The cheese curds were not the biggest and squeakiest I've had, but they were sufficient in both regards. I had the galpoute, which is like the classic dish of galvaude (lighter gravy, peas, chicken) but without the peas. Okay, more chicken! And they even asked which gravy I wanted, so I chose the sauce brune from regular poutine for more flavor. The chicken wasn't anything to write home about but there was plenty of it. With quick, friendly service, good prices, and a nice neighborhood feel, I'll round my 4.5 stars up for one of the great eateries in La Mauricie.

I'm vegan an eating no gluten, no problemo, a few choices available! Green salad: balsamic a little bit too vinaigretty for me. But fresh yummy veggies. Arrabiata gluten free penne: simply yummy! This sauce is just amazing: perfect mix if tomatoes, garlic, and spices. And the sauce is just thick enough to stay on pasta. Would definitely come back! For a date: I was on a quiet evening. It can definitely sit a lot of people so my guest is it can get noisy. On my night: soft music. Love the soft romantic lighting; feels like we are on a patio at night. Everyone with me enjoyed their food. The only recommendation would be to have more variety of wines and have them all available. The first night, they had no rosé and the second night, they only had one bottle so we switched to white. The second night, I had a mix of appetizers which was also very good. The pasta from the first night was some of the best I have ever had, though it was heavy. They were busy both nights, but the service was great. I would definitely recommend this spot while in Trois Rivières.

Trois-Rivieres is the midpoint, more or less, on the highway between Montreal and Quebec City, so you'll either be buying fuel or be hungry. This small downtown has a main drag, Rue des Forges, which has obviously gone through a small renaissance and has some trendier eateries as well as nicely finished renditions of McDonald's and Subway. However, Bravo, a few streets over, is more like a diner. Not only that, being toward a less redeveloped area, free parking is more readily found. I've eaten here a couple of times. The portions are nicely sized! I had no problem finishing the entrees and the sides. There is a bar, but I went with hot tea, because the weather was turning cool. Ever been in a small town you like, and don't know why you like it? Trois-Rivieres is such a town for me. It's on the Saint Lawrence River, has a port, a small downtown, old churches, a gritty industrial section, the topography slowly climbs upward as you go inland from the river, and one senses that there is a lot of history there. And this little "locals only" (not really) pizza place/diner fits right into the equation.

Our order consisted mainly of appetizers, however the food was brought out all together as per our request. If you try ONE thing here, you need to try the scallops! They're perfectly cooked, soft and sweet with a touch of salt. Absolutely magical! I have no complaints about any of our food, this establishment really puts an effort to make balanced dishes that promote the unique flavors of their ingredients. The restaurant was incredibly busy at 5pm on a Saturday, but we were seated right away. Make sure to call ahead for a reservation if you're planning to go on a busy night. Margo was our server, and she was very accommodating and fast. The restaurant is situated in the center of Trois Rivière's Centre Ville, which can be hectic on weekends, however the restaurant does a good job at creating a relaxing space to enjoy your food.
