My wife ordered the chicken dish, while I had the ribs. The ribs were slightly overcooked but still flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, all of our friends were happy with their choices, and we left with a great impression of the restaurant. I'd additon we had the best view of the The Hospices de Beaune building.

I went to pay at the counter the person entered the amount in wrong and charged me 2,327.10 USD, he realized the mistake and and had the manager (not well kept, scabs on arms) run the credit for the mistake, the manager proceeded to charge another 2,292.67 USD on my cc. They could not get this to accept a credit and gave us a email to send to the owner (I believe) to send us a payment to correct the mistake. We never received anything and this is now in a disputed charge. Whether it was a mistake or a more I am not sure but stay away.

I wish I could remember the name of the dishes we tried, but frankly it doesn't matter, as everything we tried was delicious. The wine list wasn't one of the most impressive ones in the area, but it was good enough. Service was appropriate for what you'd expect in France.

The amuse bouche was a tasty soup (sorry I don't remember the name, but I do remember the taste). My husband had the morel cappuccino, the trout and the "sweet" cheese plate. I had the duck and the savory white cheese. I would probably not order the white cheese again, this is on me, not the restaurant. It tasted good, just wasn't quite what I was expecting. Next time, a traditional sweet for dessert.

It provides a decidedly old-school foil a sleek, clean modern dining room, which foreshadows the meal ahead: classic French, prepared anew. In finer weather, the expansive patio would be ideal for an al fresco meal. Either way, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a picturesque view of Burgundian Grand Cru vineyards along the ridge above. In fabulous style, the service is perfect, unobtrusive, yet generous. For lunch, it's hard to go wrong with the Menu du Jour, two plates for 19E, three for 25E. The rabbit terrine, expertly made, rich and nuanced, served with a biting whole mustard. Pumpkin soup, spiced beautifully for the season, was creamy, soft, and warming. The chicken ballotine stuffed with herbs and laid over filling red lentils cooked in sultry demi-glace. To pair, the wine list is expansive and filled with Burgundy, at suitable prices. Castel de Tres Girard's on the must-do list for any trek on the Route de Grand Cru.

So often we hear in the states that the French are arrogant and pretentious. I've found that to…read moremostly be false, until this afternoon... I was very much looking forward to dining here but the restaurant canceled our reservation just a couple of hours before we were supposed to dine. When we arrived, on time, we were turned away. Apparently confirming the reservation multiple times in the weeks leading up to my trip wasn't enough. During a tasting this morning at Dujac, in a cave with no service, I missed one final email confirmation. Because I guess three wasn't enough. God forbid people keep their phones away and actually live in the moment. There were empty tables when we arrived so this was clearly a matter of them simply not wanting to serve us before they closed for the day. Unfortunately I have zero desire to return and give them a second chance to redeem themselves. I hope this stain serves as a reminder that people are human and should be shown grace. I've spent two decades working in the food and beverage world. Many of those years in a restaurant. If one of my employees pulled something like this there would be swift action taken and we'd be inviting the guests back for a free meal. We ended up across the street at Brasserie Le Belena. Where we had no reservation and they were filled to the brim. Nonetheless they welcomed up and sat us quickly. We had an exceptional lunch and we are very grateful they accommodated us. I'll be leaving them a nice 5 star review after this. I'd suggest literally any other restaurant in town at this point.
